Great win, but stop with the ref whining...

Was only a 15-12 foul disparity and we deserved most of them, including Paul's almost flagrant dumb foul at the end and on top of that we had Paul's two stupid flops. The only game I recall being really pissed at the reffing was Purdue, where it was 24-11 in fouls and 28-11 in FTs, in Purdue's favor in a game where so many touch fouls were called on us and very few on them. Our implosion at the end was almost all self-made with bad TOs, bad fouls, missed assignments and bad shots. Thankfully, the team came back to win it on the back of freakin' Cam Spencer scoring 5 of the last 7 points in the game and 23 overall, including the huge trey and the 2 FTs at the end - onions!!

Paul did have 12/6/6 and 2 steals and a block and Mag/Hyatt both had nice nights with 9 and 10, respectively. Cliff only had 4 but played much better in the 2nd half on D with 11 boards overall and 2 blocks and altered a few more. Caleb struggled on O, but played mostly great D. Nice to win with subpar performances from Cliff and Caleb and not much from the bench (Simpson had a weak game too) - going to need more bench play and production in the future though. 11-18 from three is the stat of the game though.

Get some glasses you need them. I would take the tape and take those 5 straight bogus calls to the league office so they can discipline those refs. They let NW get back in the game. Open your eyes.

The flagrant was not an issue.

The flops are very much the dark side of Paul.

We got called on some slight bumps too and they didn’t on same type of bumps, but who cares we won.

Also flop rule is stupid. If the refs weren’t incompetent dipshits being on the ground would be penalty enough for a flop

Second flop he was fouled - should have been a 4 point play

I dunno I think it was a flop.

Paul knows how to “play” the refs, but he was trying too hard tonight and was getting frustrated, which led to some bone head plays.

Need better from him.
And the ref's know he tries to play them. Double edged sword.

That second flop was not an obvious call. Sure, could be called a flop, but could just as easily been called a foul on NW on a hip check as Paul came down.

Aside from that, the ticky tack way the refs treated us in the second half is annoying, but every B1G team knows this on the road in this conference and it’s about adjusting to the whistle (it shouldn’t have to be, but it is).

Which leads me to the last point. Paul lets the officiating fluster him too much, and he’ll NEVER get calls because of it. He’s gotta stop the whining, put blinders on, and move on to the next play.

Called stuff on us plenty that they did not call on NU. Multiple blocks. Holding players. Stuff we got called for consistently. Just call the same game both halves for both teams

As someone stated refs provided that comeback not NU

This was a huge win on the road. We showed intestinal fortitude.
NW is a great BB Team. They had won their last 7 of 8 games and been playing great.
We showed heart and withstood a 10-0 NW run in the 2nd Half.

Payback now on Sunday.
