OT: NNJ Pizza place after MSG Game

Folks bringing a crew to the MSG game and need a fun nice Pizza Place in NNJ after the game. Been to the Star Tavern and it was just OK.

Thinking about Razza but they don't open until 4 on a Saturday.

What do you have ? BTW we live in Monmouth cty so looking for Lincoln Tunnel and south...

Grab a beer after the game and go to Razza at 4.

There's also Sciortino's in South Amboy, not far off the Parkway. Fantastic pizza, good pastas/wings/bar food (in either the restaurant part or the bar area) and a cool, old school bar.

Good spot . Bar stool guy gave low rating to perth Amboy one.

I like the South Amboy pizza better than the Perth Amboy location (which was the original, then they moved to SA and then other people opened up the "new" spot in PA), but I've only been to the PA location once. @mildone likes the PA location better, iirc. This guy gave the SA pizza a 9.0, which I would agree with.

Linwood in linden . Strawberrys in Woodbridge .
You can hit Staten Island on your route too. Lee’s, campania , denino’s .
All these spots very good. All got booze

I have always wanted to try Strawberry’s. Angelina’s in South Plainfield is pretty good too. Fairly new. They took over the old Flanagan’s spot, were interrupted by the pandemic, but are doing well. Pizza there is really good and they support the community. Get there!

Was going to be my suggestion too.

Take the Holland instead to the Bayonne Bridge.

Another good one is Joe and Pat’s.

Since your going to be at MSG I’d recommend Lazzara’s on 38th street. Quite possibly the best pizza I have ever had

In high school I worked at Joe & Pats, Al’s, and Deninos. Deninos by a mile. Also, while student at Rutgers I would bar tend weekends at a place called the Choir Loft (FDNY family owned), and Lee’s staff would bring us pies after work, when they came to drink at the Loft. Love Lee’s!!

Might as well get dominoes and sit on side of the road. A friend of mine who owns many pizza joints on LI was an original partner but luckily bailed out before it claimed bankruptcy-- even he hated its food.

So i have a reservation at Razza's for 3 pm is that too tight?

only a 15 min window and they take $150 on your card up front and you have to cancel 4 hours ahead of time. Really pissing me off

Seems pretty tight to me. Will there be more commercials since it's a Fox game? If game ends at 2:30 that only gives you 30 mins to get out of MSG, to the car, out of the city, to find parking in JC, walk over to Razza.

That's why you park in Jersey City before the game and take the PATH to and from. Even then cutting it close because the the PATH will swing through Hoboken due to the weekend schedule or you're taking the subway down to WTC to catch that PATH instead. Leaving at 2:30 probably gets you to Razza closer to 3:05-3:10ish.

If he stays whole game ,it’s going to be close. My bet is he won’t make it there by 315. I guess it depends how fast they walk . Slow walkers will cost him. Everyone take a leak at the under 4 timeout too

So many good suggestions here and this guy @fg7321 makes this bonehead decision !! Wow. Even if he makes it , the stress and rushing to make it isn’t worth it.
