Up close you can cleary see it. He is favoring his right leg. I pointed it out and the people around me all agreed once I did. While walking he had a slight limp. The one ref even asked him if he was OK when he was checking into the game

Interesting...I didn't notice that

Might explain his lack of explosion recently

Don't know about any injury, but he didn't bring much energy today in any phase of the game.

Noticed that and was commenting on it several games ago that his running didn’t look right.

He was very pensive today. There was one play in the first half when he was fed the ball under the basket for a sure dunk and unlike him - he did not go immediately up for the dunk and did a head fake as if afraid for the imminent contact.

The title should be 'Cliff is not very good'!

He may be bruised but poor judgement, poor passing, stone hands as was mentioned before are not due to any leg injury.

Also I do not understand why he continues to switch off at the top of the foul line and does not get back to his man, who eventually scores.

He wasn't a big focal point of the offense vs Maryland either.
1-4 FGs in 34 minutes, kind of noticed they really weren't looking for him in that game as well. He was 4-11 vs Purdue, so it could have happened vs Purdue or Md. He had no explosion today either going 3-8, 3-7 at the rim.

He took a hard knee to his thigh a few games back, can't remember from who.

Edit: I just looked back, and people were commenting prior to the Wake game that it looked like his thigh was padded and he was wearing a brace on his knee. Maybe it was Key or Ndefo? I remember him taking a hard shot to his leg and going down and worrying about the whole season, lol

Also he laid up a shot on a rebound and missed when he normally skies up for a dunk. No spring. Would explain alot.

Pensive? That sounds like a place I’ve never been, Pen Island. Have you been?

Noticed in replay as well. Had no spring like usual. Injury plus short recovery time equals less effective Cliff. Stone hands and bad decision making today did not help the situation.

Tough game for Cliff. It happens. Get better big guy.

I have thought this since early in the season...I thought he may have had a sleeve or something at some point too...

It seemed like he was fully healthy a couple weeks ago..i forget what game....didn't have a sleeve if I recall and seemed to have more energy. It seemed like he re-aggravated it or something the last couple games. Pur speculation. But it might explain some things.

Been saying this for a while …I have just wanted to keep this quiet . No inside info…but ther just are days he looks like he doesn’t have the explosion and favored it. Maybe upper leg muscle pull?

I also recall a few games ago the sleeve came off. Perhaps he re-aggravated something or it’s something else.

Cliff was at the Frday high school game Camden versus Don Bosco Prep.I doubt he would have attended if injured.Maybe he is just tired after playing three games this week.

I swear he was a little gimpy in one leg at Mohegan Sun (was there in person up close). Think I commented on it at the time

Interesting that you are saying this - because later in the 2nd half he came out of the huddle and noticed didn't seem to be walking normally. Didn't think much about it. Definitely was more active against MD. Will see against NW.

You might be right, but so far he has had a pretty disappointing season. Every decent center he has gone up against this year has outplayed him. The idea that he will get drafted after this year looks ludicrous. I don’t know if the issue is coaching, focusing on the wrong things in the off-season like 3 point shooting or injury, but he has not developed they way we would have hoped this season. And we aren’t we running any pick and roll with him? Makes no sense.

I actually thought he looked ill, like he was fighting a cold or something. On tv, you could see a difference in his eyes.

Many game changing players aren’t 100% after 15 or 16 games.
They still have an impact on the game, when they don’t their team suffers greatly

He's also wearing a sleeve on one lower leg. My son asked me why yesterday.

So much stuff in other threads about if Cliff will stay another year or not. At least this is a Cliff thread.

Why would Cliff be more likely to become an NBA player with another year at Rutgers as opposed to a year in the G League?

It seems to me that IF that's the only goal - playing in the NBA, the sooner he can get to the G League the better. That would have been the case after last season too, which makes me think it's not the only factor for Cliff. If it were, he'd be in the G League right now.

I don't think the G League is a great option for players who have a lot of development to do. The competition is stronger than college and I'd think you can get buried pretty quickly on the bench if not playing up to what the organization is looking for.

Playing at Rutgers, he'd still be the man.. and will have plenty of practice and game experience to hone his skills

Why would next year at Rutgers help him more than this year? He's physically mature, it's not like he's going to get bigger/faster/stronger with another year.
Look at some G-League box scores - they're not burying guys on the bench to win games, that's not what the G-League is about. They play more games and 48-minute games, there are tons more minutes than in college.

Yeah you're probably right. I admittedly don't know much about the G-League. 🤷‍♂️

The way he is playing I honestly don’t think he would have any G league interest right now. He is too raw and he is getting outplayed by guys who won’t be playing beyond college. If he wants to be a pro next year he will probably have to go overseas

With the NIL, college is arguably a better option than the g league. Id certainly rather be bmoc and playing for pike as opposed to traveling to fort Wayne for a Tuesday night showdown.

Rutgers misses Jay Young who coached the front court players. He made Myles Johnson a better player.
