Was kinda hoping for RPO. Let’s you use Gavin’s legs as a threat. Also uses a lot of your best offensive player, Sam Brown. And maybe makes it easier for Wimsatt if he has a specific pass option he’s throwing to.
IMO, running the ball and wanting to run the ball is perfectly fine. Use of tempo, creating space, stretching the field etc.is also part of it and I'm not sure how much of that we'll be seeing.
It's hard to run the ball out of the shotgun/pistol with a QB that's not a threat to run and an OL that is considerably less than cohesive. That's why RU's offense was so easy to defend.
Are you saying it's easy to run under center with a bad ol? I don't understand.
I see no difference between a QB under center with a rb at 7 or a RB at 7 and a QB at 3-5.
Looks like this O will help a QB who can pick up its simple concepts and give him only a couple of decisions to make at the line and with where to throw.
The consistent run look formations should help keep the D guessing run or pass which should help the OL.
With only 2-3 receivers out in routes on most pass plays and quick hitters off of RPO, guys might not be wide open consistently so throws will have to be very accurate.

We won’t be seeing any of that. Schiano loves to work clock and play in a phone booth.
The idea is to make it as hard to move the ball as possible.
We’ve mastered it.
Because all of the modern shotgun offenses we've tried worked so well. We are 0-2 with those types of coordinators.
I actually watched the film analysis and was impressed by the analyst and our new OC. Then I read some of the comments by the usual suspects and it’s obvious you did not watch the clip or you know absolutely nothing about the game of Football.
Thanks for posting this. Looks like he is able to put players in good situations. Going to need some playmakers at WR to make it work, but everyone knows that. I am hopeful given that 2020 was such an odd year. Not only was it covid but Journey Brown (who had 890 yards on 129 carries and 12 touchdowns in 2019) had to stop playing football before 2020 and his expected replacement, Noah Cain, was out for the season after one game. Despite the short season Dotson put up 52-884 with 8 TDs in 9 games in 2020.
Ah yes - the sideline lookover before EVERY SINGLE play back in 2009 and 2010 - guess we'll have to get use to it again.
Boiling it down, for it to work the '22 OL recruits
will have to start making significant contributions.
There is significant talent in this group.
Will need two or three of these to step up: Allen, White, Monegro, DeCroce, and Asamoah.
Rochelle looks like he could be a weapon. The option/power spread offense may play to Gavin's strengths. Also the new QB recruit Ajani seems like he has a good football IQ.
The way I remember it at RU it was, a no Rhythm clock winding down while RU fans were screaming to snap the ball offensive, that was frustrating to watch and bewildering . Not looking forward to this nightmare again!
The other teams that do it actually move the ball consistently.
