You're making a lot of assumptions. Part of deal Warren cut was to renegotiate dollars for new adds. As to who those new adds may be in the future, no one on this board knows.

Who knows if Stanford and/or Cal will get an invite. Same for Washington and Oregon. As for Stanford and Cal, they do not bring a NYC market, but they still have a market in which there is money beyond TV money (donors with dollars). Regular facetime with those individuals also leads to dollars in university coffers. And their academics will placate the academic side of the discussion if the University presidents still care about those things. But that is a big IF.

Agreed... would think, as long as he does good job at B1G, the longevity/stability of the job is with B1G, not the Bears who, like many NFL teams, changes management frequently.

no one can say, but I feel west coast travel partners will be a good reason to bring in more WC teams to the B1G and backdoor negotiations are probably going on between schools and B1G through 3rd parties.

I'm willing to bet conference expansion/realignment talks start up again in the summer after the school year is over. B1G isn't going to leave USC/UCLA on an island, they learned that lesson with PSU. I'm expecting Stanford/Oregon/Washington and one of Cal/Arizona to be targeted to get to 20 teams.

Need someone who will lead the conference with expertise in athletic media rights, rather than thinking of it solely as an academic alliance. Player issues (not just institutional) will also come to the forefront as NIL and labor issues get settled. Don’t need an academic or other conference commish. Pernetti is looking pretty good to me.

I look for OSU's AD Gene Smith to be the next B1G Commish.
But he might feel more comfortable where he is and not want more challenges being 66 years of age and knowing the job should be a long term one, not a hit and run to retirement

Another name I heard mentioned as a [possibility , Mark Silverman the president and chief operating officer of Fox Sports.
I've read that he had a big role in getting UCLA & USC to go B1G and was part of launching the BTN before joining Fox Sports and being credited with that networks successful handling of the way it covers college sports. .

This isn't really a good or fair take at all. 2 years ago he hadn't done much of note, and what he had done seemed a bit questionable. In the meantime, the SEC was running circles around him with their Texas and Oklahoma moves. Since then, he got the media rights deal done, seemingly to positive results. And he also made a counter move to the SEC by raiding the PAC for USC and UCLA. A move which I Iove and was advocating for since the SEC moved first. I think over the past 2 years Warren showed that he could handle the position. Prior to that, I think the criticism of him was fair. He needed to show some aggressiveness, which he ultimately did. What exactly did he do 2 years ago that was so impressive to you that you felt he was beyond reproach to evaluate at that time? I personally feel like the criticism of him at the time was warranted, but at the same time, I had an open enough mind that he was able to sway my opinion of him with his actions over the past 2 years.

On the other hand, I’m glad Warren shared my ideals into growing the conference into a 20 school behemoth however sadly that vision is not currently shared throughout the conference.
However very happy he was successful in poaching USC and UCLA.

It was knee-jerk whining posted in an internet bubble in which the whims of know-nothing archmchair appendages have to be satisfied in milliseconds lest actual real-world actors be villianized.
