Who was the guy playing the national anthem on electric guitar at tonight’s game? He was announced as a Grammy award-winning Rutgers alum. I believe that his first name was Shareef or something like that.

Was horrible. As a musician, I can say it. Riffs aside, wrong notes a plenty…cringeworthy
It felt like there were a lot of mistakes that he covered up by playing around the true intended note. I also had a tough time figuring out the meter of the song; it kept bouncing around. Not really my cup of tea, but I know that others enjoyed it.

Definitely outside the box (which I have no problem with). It sounded a little off at times like he was about to break into another song. I will say afterward when he was walking off he seemed disappointed in how he played.

Joe Walsh.
That’s a tough get, he’s pretty good friends from high school with my oldest brother Larry and he is a magnificent guitarist.
Another good friend of my other brother Tim was Al Anderson of the Wailers…Google him.
He’s the Black one not the White one…lol
Two pretty good Axemen from “The Clair”

Definitely rippin'! More of this, less teeny boppers who have parents who think they can sing.

While the interpretation seemed scattered, for a guitar player, what they asked him to do was a logistical nightmare. I thought the dude had a great vibe!

Why was it a logistical nightmare?

Also didn’t get off to the greatest start when there was no sound

To roll out a complete electric guitar rig onto a basketball court in front of 8000 people and a national TV audience waiting on you, teams standing on each side, with no real way to sound check (to avoid what happened at the start for tuning and monitor/amplification purposes) and have to be operational in seconds...the dude deserves a medal for being able to come thru at all.

It's not like tapping a mic and singing...way more goes into it. Love to see what he could do in a concert setting!
