Help………… we need an athletic tight end, mobile QB with moxy and mental toughness, another quality RB and two solid receivers. Priority ONE is QB. If GW is afraid of competition and there is a concern that he may transfer, he wasn't your leader anyway. The time is now for a big OC hire and that QB. Maybe we catch lightning in a bottle and get that coach who brings his quarterback with him to run the show.

Look out our history of transfer QBs. We are more likely to recruit a Dud than a difference maker. Lack of NIL support and poor offensive performance puts us at a big disadvantage when recruiting. This limits us to the QB transfers that no one else wants.
The offense is currently a trainwreck and higher rated qb transfers want no part of this.

That’s why we’re all in on Wimsatt, though we might get a backup. We’ll probably be active during the spring transfer period from May 1st to May 15th. That’s what I got from Schiano’s press conference.

Excuses, excuses. Syracuse stunk last year and they were able to land a competent qb. Programs like Pittsburgh and Maryland seem to have no issues finding guys that can play at a P5 level. There are like 80 qbs in the transfer portal with semi respectable resumes.

80 semi respectable QBs According to you. But How many are actually Big Ten quality? Of those that are big ten quality, how many are willing to come here, especially to an offense that has no OC and no proven WRs and little TE production and a line that struggles to pass protect? The quality kids that we would have targeted have already set their visits, so not going to hold my breathe here. If we don’t get a QB now, we’ll could get one May 1st to 15th, if Schiano wants one. We may decide to roll with what we have.

We aren’t going to get these transfers with no OC.

If Schiano banks next season on the current QB room, RU is in for a long year again, even with a very respectable defense. Holding out hope for a quality, tough minded dude to run the offense. We don't need Tom Brady, we need a kid with an edge.

Vedral is probably the best transfer we’ve landed.

Not if the freshman, transfer, and returning wide receivers step up, even if the Qb room stays constant.

Braithwaite is going to have an opportunity to make an instant impact, as will Toure. Rochelle should move to WR and Llng returns. Overall, there will be better talent in the WR Corp, even if a bit green.

That's an inexcusable catch-22. We can't land a QB because the offense stinks and no OC, but the offense stinks in large part due to lackluster qb play. I'm just confused how we even got to this position. Schiano landed Vedral when the program was a dumpster fire with no hope for a bowl, yet he has failed to land anyone better/similar the last 3 seasons.

Al has more excuses and as we all know he lives in some alternate world when it comes to the reality of Rutgers Football. Fact is our HC is not getting it done with Recruiting this year and has been totally absent in gaining Transfer Portal additions. This while our competitors are brining in new talent. Concerning on many levels.

Unless these WRs can throw themselves the ball, all the talent in the world won't make a difference.

The QBs will do their part and the WRs have to do theirs. The WRs have to do a better job of catching catchable balls. They have to adjust better to the flight of the ball. They have to do a better job of winning battles for 50/50 balls. The y have to do a better job of getting separation. Not every ball is going to be perfectly thrown, so receivers have to adjust accordingly.

Better talent at the WR ? What the F is that Clown smoking.
Losing all 3 Starters : Ryan, Jones, Cruikshank. Accounting for over 1000 yards and 60% of all Receiving yards.
Totally divorced from reality. Sometimes I wonder if it’s a satire account

RU is in for a long year regardless. We don't have any WR or TE, the line sucks, and we don't have an offensive coordinator. Oh and our useless offensive coaches are still on the staff. Schiano has done Jack **** to address our teams problems since the season ended

Which of our freshman receivers will win the Belitnikoff next year? They may turn out productive, but expecting them to lead this team is absolute nonsense.
This.
Our wise soothsayer Al said our incoming Freshman WR’s will result in better talent than our graduating 3 Seniors at WR ( Ryan, Jones, and Cruikshank-,1000 yards combined ). Really ??? Two freshman WR’s who’s only Scholarship offers were New Hampshire, Stony Brook, Brown, Bryant and Army.
You can’t make this shat up.

I actually think Toure will be really good. Rochelle is talented too, and I don't know much about the others. But they're still mostly freshman, with a QB that needs a lot of development, a line that needs improvement, and a disappointing coaching staff. That's why I think getting 2-3 of these WR from the portal was almost our biggest need, but we haven't even gotten a look

Our graduating seniors led the worst passing attack in the Big Ten this year. Appreciate their contribution, but worst is worst. Quarterbacks and WRs did not have a good year, which is why we’re looking for a new OC to change that. There is nowhere to go but up.

A new OC isn’t going to help our QB throw passes that aren’t 8 feet high

Actually that is not quite true.

Our Offense could flat line next year just like the past 3 years.

Or it could get better, with 4 of 5 returning OL starters, a returning QB starter who saw his first real action, a couple of returning tight ends, and a number of returning WRs which will be augmented by true freshman. Wimsatt should show his biggest improvement this year.

Then we are doomed and we should pack it in if this is true.
If your post began with an IF, I would be 100% on board. If that IF does not happen, I'm out. I'm going to move my donations and NIL money to women's volleyball.

Yeah, but the one who's not coming back was the best of the bunch, and a B1G caliber OL. Although there is a "show me" aspect, hopefully that bumper crop of red shirts begin to contribute next fall.
