🤣

The avengers remix was great. Gotta love how she caught the thrown chair and tossed it aside. I was at Waffle Houses in the southern states a bunch of times when young. Never saw any fights.

Everyone should experience the Waffle House at least once, preferably after midnight and preferably inebriated and/or toasted. I spent many months in the south (Albany GA, SW VA and other places) for work over the years and had a few meals at Waffle House - the food's actually pretty damn good for what it is - it's basically the south's version of an all-night diner. I also never saw any fights there, but there were always a few sketchy folks there, like any late night diner (or White Rose).

If people haven't seen it, Bourdain's visit to a Waffle House (his first ever) with fellow chef Sean Brock (from Charleston, iirc) is worth a watch.

Oh man- we used to go all the time down in Atlanta back in the 90’s- how I don’t have clogged arteries is beyond me- I remember you would get your sandwich wrapping in parchment paper that looked like an oil spill happened. Lol food was delish but things bad for you usually are. But don’t eat there unless 15 mins or less from a clean toilet.

Been to several Waffle Houses over the years. Always seemed like a fight could break out at any possible moment. Never experienced one inside the restaurant, though the one in Dover DE I did see two tables of people push back and hurry outside when a car arrived, followed by unintelligible shouting.

Also, the sticky floors were a nice touch.

Been to a few of them, mostly over a couple year stretch 20+ years back. Almost exclusively post-drinking and post-midnight. Might have even been to this one in Austin but hard to say for sure, could've been a different one.

The environment left much to be desired but the food always seemed to hit the spot, lol

Had breakfast at the Waffle House in Jax Beach before the Gator Bowl last year. It is what it is.

Edit: I want that little white girl on my team. She can throw a punch *and* catch a chair.

Went to one on a recruiting trip down to Elon and Gardner-Webb after the plane flight down.At another restaurant it was the 1st time I learned biscuits and gravy was actually a thing, as the coaches order it.

Waffle House is great. Much better than Denny’s. Chicken fried steak is good.

I hear that after 8PM you need a BAC of 1.0 or higher to gain entrance.

It’s not just the floors.

EVERYTHING is sticky. Everything.

Like The Parker House basement close to LDW.

No BS, Waffle House in Richmond Virginia with my family roughly 20 years ago on our way to vacation, the chef walks over to us, grabs my dad and i’s plate and says ‘I’m gonna whip up a fresh batch of these for you guys’. We respond, ‘why this is fine’, the chef responds ‘I was wearing a bandaid on my finger and now it’s gone’. Sure enough the old man lifts up his waffle and underneath is a used bandaid!!!!

I’m not ashamed to say it was not my last visit to a Waffle House, but my god I’ll never forget

Waffle House... where the dregs of society congregate at 4 in the morning. Have had plenty of grease fest breakfasts there during a long weekend of poor intentions.

Based in NC since 1982. Been to WH many times. Pretty good basic breakfast fare. After midnight, though, don't sit at the counter or with your back to the door.
WH was one of our family vacation highlights! Not because of the place or food, but what it represented. We did family vacations at WDW most summers and through the 80s, drove there. IIRC, after day 1 of driving, we would crash in SC. We always would start day 2 with a WH breakfast and then make the final push to the Happiest Place on Earth. Fond memories. :)

Remember either in NC or SC, every time a new customer would walk in, the staff would say "Good morning" loudly.

In Austin, they throw spatulas and coffee stuff at the customers.

First trip to Waffle House in Florida in the 90s with the wife. Flies all over the place and cooks / help armed with fly swatters killin em. Wife will never go back to one and when we’re traveling down south I always joke that is where we’re gonna eat.

Cracker Barrel is chain of preference when traveling down south.

She demonstrated good situational awareness and composure throughout the whole event. I would like to know her back story. Wouldn’t be surprised if she had some training.

She's the Will Munny of WH.
I was thinking military, but training as an outlaw who only stopped gunning people down because she found true love works too. 🙂

I suppose she could originally be from West Virginia and developed her combat skills as a child while fighting off the “amorous” advances of her cousins, brothers, and suspected dads. 😀

Give the various urban dictionary definitions of Waffle House and board culture I'm not positive what you are asking, but I went to the restaurant a few times. It's hard to screw up breakfast.

Note to self. Booth and fixed stool establishments only after 10 pm south of the Waffle House line.

Once. Never again.

There was a hair stuck to the plastic menu.
They only had one waffle maker working so @RUScrew85 and I got our waffles one at a time.
I thought the guy behind the counter was going to have a stroke when I asked for unsweetened iced tea. In South Carolina (OK, that one is on me. I had no idea it wasn't something you could easily get in the south)

My first time was in May in Decatur, GA and two months later had a heart attack - never had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, family history, raced in triathlons so I'm guessing it was my one visit

Finally, someone else who appreciates the concept of situational awareness. It's pretty much missing in action these days.

I‘ve developed mine from decades of preventing the hookers from stealing my blow. They can be very loving, sure. But they are well-know devious, sneaky creatures when it comes to pilfering blow. I had to start putting it in a mirror-topped lockbox. Then it became a game of hide-a-key.

You guys are a couple of uptight Yankees. 😂 They did not charge extra for hair. It's sweet tea or no tea in the South.

"Y'all" didn't dress like this and ask the dreaded question, did you?

Came across a lot of fake niceness down south, which they bill as Southern hospitality. There were a lot of genuinely nice people too, but a good number of people who made New Jerseyans seem like the nicest people in the US, which we are.
