Don’t see them scoring more than 50.
Only 2 games the last 2 weeks isn’t the best for timing and fitness, but it’s great for injuries…especially Paul

CSU loves their threes. Saw in their two OT games they took 38 and 36 treys, respectively. And even though they shoot a decent percentage from beyond the arc, they usually lose and lose big (other than in those OT games).

CSU is bad at defending the arc, and they’re a terrible rebounding team. This tells me that Hyatt and Spencer should score well from outside, while Cliff and Mag will dominate inside.

Paul will be his usual great facilitator — he might even set an RU record for assists in a game, and Caleb will have an all-around good game with lots of boards and steals. Simpson should have some fun in what should be a free-wheeling game.

Only question is whether Pike will turn our guys loose to score at will, while easing off the press a bit, hoping to use this game as a confidence builder for our shooting and scoring.

RU wins 89-64.

Coppin plays fast (#17 adjusted tempo) and has a decent offense for a small conference team, but their defense is atrocious.

I think Coppin gets over 50 but Rutgers also gets over 80.

They like the shoot the 3 and really the only way I can see us even being remotely uncomfortable in this game is if they get super hot. I expect we'll be favored by ~24.5. If they put up 30 threes and normally make ~10 of them, then if they hit say 15 (i.e. 50%) it could be a single digit game. But that requires them to actually get the ball down the court against our defense. I don't see it happening.

I can’t remember what kind of an on ball defender Sessoms is. That’s our nemesis. Strong perimeter D. Without it, Caleb and Paul can do what they want.

Unfortunately, we'll need to win by 20 to not lose ground in the NET rankings. We need a clone of the Bucknell game.
