Hyatt has 7 assists in 276 minutes this season (and to be honest i would need video evidence of those 7 assists as don't recall one of them)

one assist every 40 minutes for a guy spending most of his time on the wing is pretty astonishing

I'm sure emotions super high, and that this was a very frustrating loss. Something tells me the fanbase is not the only group driven nuts by Hyatt. And McConnell challenging him is leadership - maybe not in the right place, but that's what leaders do. They tell people when they are screwing up, and sometimes those conversations don't go so well.

Leaders who turn the ball over the don't make shots should be challenging themselves, not their teammates.

Caleb is looking at this as his tryout for the NBA. His handle is terrible and he can't take people off the dribble. His lack of passing ability compounds the problem.

He's a great, great defensive player. That is his role. Take some spot shots when open and that is his game. I am sure the NBA told him what to work on which is offense and handles. He's just not that guy.

If they focus on what they do best and work together they can be great. If they want theirs and don't do what they are most capable of and do what they are not capable of, they will falter as individuals.

Offense was putrid last night. At times they worked together an for each other. At other times the stood around and watched.

The only people who should dribble on this team are Paul, Cam, and the freshman. Everyone else is a disaster and the ball stagnates as soon as they start pounding the rock in the floor.

Shoe played great D but we did everything we can to make it easy on them. They played as individuals instead of a team.

If Caleb thinks this season is about making him more attractive to the NBA, this team is going nowhere.

There are not enough shot creators on this team. I like Cam, but if he is struggling with his shot then Simpson needs to get more PT. I understand that Simpson did not play well in limited minutes yesterday, but his scoring was the difference in the second half against Indiana. Mulcahy needs to be more of scoring threat also and not just a facilitator.

Paul didn’t attempt a 3 or take a jump shot last night.
If you make a couple you set the defender up to beat him off the dribble, or you get him in the air.

We were having so much trouble inbounding the ball that it made sense to continue play.
we always look a little shaky when we in bound from under our basket, but this would have been from half court so Pike should have called time out to set something up. Agree with Nuts.

Our 1st basket after the play Paul motioned over to the SHU bench.

I think there had to be a lot of talking. SHU was the decent size underdog so i am going to say it didnt hurt them.

Anyone notice that Mulcahy didn't shake hands with Shaheen after the game despite Sha extending his hand for a handshake? PM getting ripped on the SH site. I didn't watch it on my way out of the arena.
It’s a running joke that Paul won the sportsmanship of the year award lmao. I think at the time people didn’t like that I said he didn’t deserve it but it’s hard not to see as time goes on.

Paul loves to instigate. I like having that type of player on my team.

We have on the court leadership issue.

3 games decided in the last minute …three losses due to execution …

0-3….

You are what you record says you are …
Not entirely true. We played a great game on the road against OSU and made plays down the stretch. Execution was fine. Blaming players for that loss is just wrong. The freaking BIG made a public statement so don’t blame execution. I’ll add we also played great against Indiana and in the 3 games we were at full strength we played 2 very good games and then the rock fight happened. We like rock fights in general but SHU threw bigger rocks than we did. We had our chances and defensive execution was very good except 2 plays down the stretch. We needed to get to the rim in a game like that. Cliff got hacked when he went up but he didn’t go up strong like he is capable of doing. Nobody was going up strong but SHU was playing great D and the refs were allowing both teams to mug each other. Tough to execute or run plays when you’re getting held and pushed off your routes and fouled on layups. We rushed shots for that very reason. That was great D by SHU.

Sometimes you have to credit the other team and not point fingers at our players, coaches and the refs. When we win I get texts from opposing teams fans and they tip their cap to RU. Three OSU fans told me we won that game. Same fans for OSU were impressed with our Indiana game too.

Hopefully we get back on track Saturday.

You just can't stop. You are like your mom. Last night she asked for the SWAIN train. She's nasty but she loves it.

If the game plan is to place a player in the corners, so when the ball moves, it finds Hyatt there to shoot, that is a play designed by the coaches..... how exactly are you supposed to generate assists, when you don't handle the ball like a guard OR you are not the primary handler at the top of the arc??

Once fans get an idea or thought in their heads, they dig for meaningful items that defy watching basketball and how the game is played.

These are our senior leaders. While that's going on Paul is squatting behind the team (team lined up for alma mater) with his head down....LOOK AT ME, I"M ALL HEARTBROKEN. Our leaders let us down today big time....and they looked like fools after the game. Better get their act together fast.
They're kids. Think about how you reacted to adversity when you were their age. It's easy to hold them to a higher standard because of the positions that they're in, but they all have quite a bit to learn about life and managing difficulty (and that's fine... it's part of growing up, they'll get there).

Honestly, I prefer to see anger and heartbreak after a tough loss, than indifference. They should be angry when Seton Hall comes into their house and beats them.

I’m more OK with Caleb and aundre arguing. That’s about accountability and competitiveness. Not OK with Paul. If my son (HS level) was to do what Paul did, basically two games in a row, I would lose respect for him too. Paul is a great player, but he has to get his emotions together. He looked like a fool after that game and he’s better than that.

His passes were intercepted at least 4-5 times when he had some open looks.

the guy started **** and has to come back at me over and over. I will continue to be the pot. And his mom will continue to be loose.

Lol....trying to act innocent. Perhaps because you called Paul a "Little *****" and referred to the team as a bunch of girls in this thread. If that's not internet tough guy talk, not sure what is.....not to mention that your continued "mom" talk is about an 80 year old woman. Would you tell Paul he's a little ***** to his face? Would you talk like that to an 80 year old woman?

Didn't say Paul was a little *****...said he was acting like one. And yes he should hear that. Regarding the 80 year old woman, no I would not say it to her face. I would say it to SWAINs face. It's a your mom joke...you don't seem to get that. I don't know his mom nor do I care one bit about her. I'm no tough guy nor an internet tough guy. Simply called out Paul for his behavior after the game. He was being a drama queen and that's not what this team really needs from him.

He’s also the guy giving his teammates he’ll for the performance and cheering them on in better performances. He’s a hard nosed competitor with a chip on his shoulder. I’d expect nothing less from a Bayonne kid.

He tries to get into paint plenty of times and is totally incapable of setting anybody up with a pass around the basket

Hyatt attempts to drive fairly often especially compared to most on the roster. That should lead to assists. It essentially never does. He is not a good passer. When he drives, he looks to score no matter what. He never looks to drive and dish. If you can't see that, not sure what you're watching

I see the same thing. No drive and dish, no drive and kick and that's with one of the best lob threats in college basketball. Tunnel vision. But I think that can change, I'd bet they work on that in practice, it takes time to sink in.

My guess is Cliff is catching about 20% of the lobs he got last year.

Maybe Caleb is simply trying to light a fire under Hyatt. Caleb is a tough player who came back this year because he wants to win. Hyatt is being given every opportunity to take the next step. Caleb is probably telling him dude you were a top 50 four star prospect out of HS and after multiple years in college, it’s time for you to step up and be a star!

I'd be more concerned if no one was pissed after that game
