Nebraska had all the chances in the world in the last 1:30 of regulation down 1 point. 1 possession that lasted a full minute, 5 missed shots with 5 offensive rebounds.

Didn't watch the game so I'll take your word for it. What does that have to do with losing on a bad call?

Larry Scirotto was one of the refs. Same one in RU game? Don’t think he made that last call today.

It wasn't a good call under normal circumstances, but in the ref's defense it was a situation in which Nebraska was looking to foul, so the refs were ready to call a foul as soon as contact was made or when it looked like they were going to foul. They have a quick whistle in those situations because the alternative is for players to intentionally give hard fouls, which the league doesn't want.

And I was rooting for Nebraska.

This should be grounds for instant termination. 2 massive f ups in under a week. Name one other job where you can bomb so badly at your job and not be unemployed if you have 2 massive screw ups in under a week.

In defense of Scirotto this time, he didn't make the call in the Nebraska game. Courtney Green did.

For anyone who wants to see the play, just watch the last 15 seconds of overtime at the end of the video. Phantom or ticky tack foul call at a crucial time, depending on how you look at it. Foul was called on number 0 in white, Wilcher. Looked like the only contact was their hands hitting after the Purdue player had already lost the ball. On the actual broadcast, they showed a zoomed in reply of the play, but the replay isn't included in the highlights. It's easier to see what occurred during the play if you click on the gear icon (settings) at the bottom of the video screen and choose a slower playback speed.

Thanks. That's the replay the highlights left out. The camera angle in the highlights is different and is from a cross court view, so looking at both angles might give the best idea of exactly what transpired during the play.

Apparently it wasn't just Larry. It was the ALL the same crew.
No Mrs. Screw. Courtney Green (who is African-American and who made the questionable call) and John Floyd (who is also bald like Kip Kissinger), were the other 2 refs in the Nebraska game. Scirotto is the stockier dark haired guy who runs from the left (inbounding) baseline toward the area of the alleged foul in the video of the play that's been posted. Green was to the far right, down court, when he whistled the foul.

Game information, including refs, is at the bottom left of the Gamecast screen.

Thanks for the correction. I read elsewhere it was the same crew.

hell know. Especially in that situation. That ball was already lose before the incidental contact of the left hand.
Nothing's to say Purdue doesn't still win this game. Lots of time left but that still sucks for Nebby.

Spot on comment.Nebraska missed shots after offensive rebounds was the reason for the loss. They did a great job in minimizing Eddy from getting shots around the basket.

That was a bad call but not nearly as bad as the RU one

As others have said - the ref expecting a foul there so he called it. The fact that he stripped the foul without fouling was actually a bit of a fluke. The NU defender seemed to purposely rake the Purdue players chest trying to make contact purposely. (Being a bang-bang situation I don’t think he realized he knocked the ball out without fouling).

All-in-all - sure a bad call but not in same universe as ours
