Howard was on Morning Joe yesterday and basically did a one hour interview about a two hour interview - which is pretty funny.

The full interview was over 2 hours, featuring loads of songs and snippets of songs, and lots of interesting Q&A and fairly deep looks into Bruce's songwriting process and the things that have motivated him over the years (relationships with his parents, women, business people, etc.). Really well done.

I watched it tonight. I’m a Springsteen fan and I never listen to Stern.
That said, this was probably the best interview Bruce has ever done. Stern did a great job. For those who dislike Bruce’s politics, there were none here. Stern asked some probing questions on difficult topics and did a masterful job of mixing in lighter topics to keep Bruce talking.
One thing that maybe a Stern fan can shed some light on, on a couple of occasions Stern alluded to and apologized for something he may have said in the past that pissed off Patti Scalia. Anyone have the specifics on this?

I watched about the 45 minutes of the interview last night. I was not impressed with Stern as the interviewer. You can only give so much praise to your interview subject and still come across as credible. I also thought the interview had no form or structure with regard to flow. It was basically all over the place. I just could not take all of Howards fawning over Bruce. Bruce does seem like a good guy and very down to earth.

I do agree with the post below that Howard went a bit too much with the a$$ kissing but what happened to him also? He reinvent himself? He was very decent.

Bruce was adorable, charming, insightful, retrospective, completely honest, forthcoming, and exhibited some none-singing musical skills beyond what I thought he had.

I was mostly thankful that I didn't have an operation that required moving my vocal cord aside to fix that exact same issue I had with my arm and hand this past spring! Yikes!

Ask your friend if they have ideas for lower back. I can't stand or walk much and heading back to Ortho Jan. 3rd. This one is bad.

I know someone who just got a shot in C5 C6 I believe. Hand and arm numbness along with pain went away in his neck in a few days. Some people have good results with the shot, others don't unfortunately. Worth a shot though.

Then back to normal but the numbness in my right index finger is still present. Some days are better than others. I'm active and fit, spending lots of time outdoors. More or less accepted the residual numbness. Not a fan of "procedures." So....

Listened to it a couple weeks ago and also watched last night, very well done but agree with some that Howard was a little long winded on his fawning. The other thing I found annoying was the zoom ins of Robin laughing, hard to look at, but i guess we all age.
I believe this was Sterns first time back in the studio since the china flu pandemic, i can't imagine interviews are as good when the 2 people are in different locations so that was a plus.

Interesting side discussion.
When I am riding my mountain bike, from time to time I will experience mild numbness in the fingers of my left hand, usually the pinky. But like RUinPinehurst, I am not into procedures either, or meds for that matter. It goes to my Polish roots I guess. But when the numbness crops up while riding, I can make it go away (or subside quite a bit), by sitting upright and arching my back. I have made it a priority to work out my core and back muscles (hollows, dragonflys, weighted crunch, deadlifts, bent over rows, pullups, pulldowns, etc.) and it makes a bit of a difference. Also spend a lot more time stretching my tight hamstrings and on ankle dorsiflexion stretches.

I know that wasn't for me but if you didn't catch my full reply I felt better within a month. As you saw I did get a shot so I can't say it was only the Gabapentin but that would definitely be worth the try. It's not like an Oxy thing. 300mg dosage.
My 55lb 12 year old dog had issues with his back/hind area and he was prescribed 100mg / day for it and it certainly helped him too.
Not a Doc nor a share holder lol, but found something that worked.

At least 3 months I think. (This goes back 12 years so not sure.) Non-addictive. I came back off it easily and I think maybe I was at 900mg. This was just before the opioid scandal broke - opioids did nothing for me and fortunately I got off them with no trouble. Then moved on to neurontin. I worked very hard on PT too, not sure how effective that was except I fixed an old shoulder problem as part of the process.

I've read similar stories about Brian Wilson. Personal issues aside, the musical genius of these people just simply astounds me.

I'm going to throw Billy Joel into this discussion. So many great lyrics, such as Summer, Highalnd Falls and Vienna which I personally love, but the piano is simply amazing, as evidenced by the fact that he stopped writing pop music and wrote classical for a while.

I have A rigorous back and neck stretching process that I do daily. Life changing for me.
