Everybody bitches about how we don’t have a passing game. And it’s a valid concern.

But with our D, we can win games by being super boring and conservative. We lost at least a couple games we could’ve won by throwing INTs. Unless we’re down a lot, what we’re seeing today should be how we approach games the rest of the year.

Wont make fans happy. But winning now buys us time to solve passing game problems in the off-season.

Its a narrow path to victory thatt wont beat any top league teams

So we won 2 of these againt horrible teams and lost two against okay teams

It requires mistake free football which fortunately we have seen today

it's kinda similar to what the Cowboys have done with Cooper Rush... But I don't know that we have a Micah parsons on our D

I’m not saying we shouldn’t work on getting better passing. But don‘t work on it in games we can win. If a team is shredding our D, then we should go ahead and work on the passing game. And we will have a couple/ games like that coming up.

It worked in the early 2000s tho, to be fair.

Before Teel & Rice were breaking most RU records — Schiano built the D, recruited off of mid-level wins & bowls, developed the line, and focused on very conservative offensive playcalling.

It paid off.

Some of those pieces are coming together.

1) Defense looks great
2) Samuel Brown looks like NFL talent
3) OLine getting better and better

I differ with some, Nunz is calling plays that we were begging Gleeson to do. More touches for Brown, get the ball in Aron’s hands, utilize TE. And this is first game for Nunz as OC

It’s not pretty, but it’s a path to victory while we develop a passing game. And we will get beyond 2 scores down and have to pass anyway. But when we can keep it close, we can win with a slow-paced, time-consuming, grid them out all game long. Just protect the ball and be patient.

The passing game has been ... nevermind after that latest throwaway.
