Just checking, even though I can do jury duty in-person this week without a vaccine or test I still need a pcr test to use my basketball season tickets? Also since my insurance doesn’t cover testing anymore I’m kind of screwed huh?

yep stupid not to get the shot, except for being excempt because of any medical complications that would arise getting it or if one's religion says God will keep you safe if you pray ..
My reply to you and what you posted is what I think the OP wanted, jury duty and season tickets weren't on the agenda , just used to promote arguments.

don't think that's on the agenda for this first time poster.
Seems a little strange this would be someone's first message on this board.;
Not a first time poster, Rutgers College 1990 grad (when there still was one), been a fan since Jan 22, 1983 when WVU came to the RAC. Had trouble with an old Rivals login and had to get a new account. Obviously the hypocrisy of it all (especially since the “private business can do what they want” argument doesn’t fly here) and my bias is in my question. However I’m not trying to get into a war with people who believe in this vaccine. I really just want to get an answer if that’s indeed the case this season?

if you truly want an answer call the ticket office or email Rutgers.

I assume the policy exists because Rutgers still believes the vaccine hinders spread.

The vaccine is a protein that is SHAPED like COVID so that your white blood cells learn how to attach to it’s spikes. A protein just like any others in your body and will eventually get sweated out of you or peed out. NOT the actual virus, a “weakened” strand, a dead strand, or any unnatural substance not already found in your body.

Not telling anyone what to do, just trying to spread some information to anyone who might be misinformed. Especially anyone complaining about it being “unnatural” but also drinks soda or eats anything out of a box in an American supermarket.

Understanding Protein Subunit COVID-19 Vaccines |

>Protein subunit vaccines contain pieces (proteins) of the virus that causes COVID-19. These virus pieces are the spike protein. The vaccine also contains another ingredient called an adjuvant that helps the immune system respond to that spike protein in the future. Once the immune system knows how to respond to the spike protein, the immune system will be able to respond quickly to the actual virus spike protein and protect you against COVID-19.

Protein Subunit Vaccines Have Been Used for Years

More than 30 years ago, a hepatitis B vaccine became the first protein subunit vaccine to be approved for use in people in the United States. Another example of other protein subunit vaccines used in the United States today include acellular pertussis (whooping cough) vaccines.<

I think people should get the vaccines but I also think it's pretty stupid to be checking at events at this point.

Our administration making these policy decisions are a bunch of morons. The sh$t is over, move on, back to normal. The policy last year entering the RAC made no sense. What sports venues are still checking for vax status to enter??? Guessing zero (except maybe in CA?). It's embarrassing....zero science and logic behind the policy. Why does Rutgers have to highlight it's stupidity? CDC recognizing, and studies from Washington University and the Cleveland Clinic showing natural immunity is at least as robust as immunity from the vax. Israeli study showed patients with natural immunity are 13 times less likely to develop COVID again vs those who have been vaxed. And for those highlighting the vaccines safety.....how about a conversation about the side effects (clotting, myocarditis, pericarditis, death). DMED data....468% increase in pulmonary embolism in 2021 compared to the average of the 5 previous years.....2021 year vax came out. Not rocket science!

@Mikemarc.....I don't need a shot, risk \ benefit doesn't make sense. Related, why should someone who already had COVID need a shot?

For folks that want to vax and mask.....knock yourself out, your choice.

Biden just declared the pandemic over on 60 Minutes, so I guess masks and testing will be going away now. Yay us!

Now we get to see all those govt emergency powers get rescinded too right? That will be the real issue to monitor now. Will the govt (all levels) be willing to put the genie back in the bottle…

This

I dont know what more Rutgers has to hear

This is exactly the stuff I predicted when this first started. The overreach will never end and Holloway hinted at thus in that podcast where he referenced masks at the RAC during flu season

Everyone is entitled to their own decisions and opinions on this, but the people who hide behind religion are idiots

Not exactly true.....or shall I say, not the entire truth. Natural immunity is better than a vax against the same strain/variant. Most important word.....SAME. The problem over the past few years is how COVID-19 continues to change and mutate. Alpha/Beta was the original strain, then Delta, then Omicron (which itself is on sub-variant #5). Naturally immunity doesn't help much with different strains. If you got Delta, you are not much protected against Omicron. Hell, many those that got Omicron #1 during the holiday time still got #5 again this summer.

On the other hand, vaccines are much better for broad spectrum protection across strains/variants (including future mutations) and of course can be adapted every year like the flu vaccine.

BOTTOM LINE: Plenty of info is available, so everyone has the right to make their choices.

it depends on your definition of over

My immediate family got infected in August

as I posted on the off topic board, a good friend got covid in May and died from it

there are people getting infected all the time... you can argue about how dangerous it is, that is fine.

Not really, only means those who demanded everyone wear masks , get the shot and have Rutgers demand wearing masks and show proof of getting the shot will now agree that isn't necessary and everything should go back to pre-pandemic days..

But that won't happen easily because those who claimed being forced to get the shot and show proof of vax was against their freedom will now claim Biden is trying to kill them by saying the shot isn't needed anymore , along with talking away the mask protection that kept this country safe.
God save the King, if he goes to a Rutgers event that dropped mask and testing rules Rutgers was using before that damm Biden opened his mouth.

It’s not dangerous for the vast majority of people.

Masks or proof of injection is a total joke.

If people want to go get jabbed a dozen times like a pin cushion let them go for it.
Same goes for masks, no one will ask fans to remove them while entering the arena.

Other peoples injection history has no effect on others.

Bad food poisoning from the hot dogs is a greater health concern at The RAC.
