DJ Wagner completely abused Bronny when they played several months ago, let’s go after him instead!! 😁😁😁

I don’t think it will be an issue but the Nike vs Addidas obstacle seems huge. Seems very unlikely that James doesn’t go to a Nike school.
Wouldn‘t it be better to diversify? LeBron stays with Nike and Bronny goes with Addidas

Bronny James coming to rutgers would be a better recruiting tool than any facility ever built at rutgers. It would be damn near impossible to enter the rac for any games. Any NIL “issues” would be solved immediately. Probably for football too.

with all the being said, i don’t think bronny James will be coming to rutgers 😂

He’d have no problems making money with the “real NIL”.

The game has changed fellas and Pike knows it. Get Nike on board. Get Bronny his own Jersey Mike's Sandwich and get him on the Banks! Opens up all kinds of new avenues for recruiting and closer ties to the NBA. Risk<Reward

Geo, special insight or intuition regarding whether Bronnie comes to Rutgers? Thanks!

There is an RU connection that no one has mentioned. Evidently LeBron is a big fan of CVS and when the RU women played in Cleveland (which I believe is his home town) in the Final Four, he gave a pre-game pep talk to the team out of respect for her. So he does have an awareness of RU that goes back aways.

I don't follow the NBA at all but as for him as an individual, he's always seemed like an upstanding guy to me and is someone who isn't afraid to voice his view regarding African-American rights in this country.

And for RU, the pub would be amazing, as Geo has stated.

Did you say the same thing about Ron Harper? Every other son of a pro athlete?
Lebron is a notorious brute. Pike would have his hands full with him.

The biggest issue is Lebron Jr just isn’t that good. The juice ain’t worth the squeeze. The younger one maybe.

Some talk out here of Lebron being traded before he becomes a free agent. He’s not signing here again. There is no love out here for him. He’s not viewed as a real Lakers.

I mean guys playing tough defense and earning minutes playing hard.

And LBJ exemplified this. Recommender when find said he wasn't selfish enough to demand the last shot.

I can't imagine Bronnie coming here and not buying in. He would be here because the perception is that buying in to Pike would improve him.

The type of player LeBron is/was has very little relevance here.

Lebron James is a Donald Trump, Floyd Mayweather - level narcissist. Once you come to terms with that - it should tell you about the chances of his son coming here. Think glamor and prestige for Bronny. Even if his talent doesn't match it

I think LeBron once said he would have been Ohio state bound if he had to play one yr
OSU is just showing minimal/token interest in Bronnie just out of respect to LeBron who is a huge OSU fan. LeBron has been seen at several OSU games over the years cheering for the Buckeyes. He won't be going to OSU as they have others that they consider better in mind. He's a decent HS player but not sure he's being pursued hard by any of the top level CBB programs

Sneakers? A kid chooses what college to attend based on sneakers.
Never had this problem when everyone was wearing Chuck Taylors. Only question was if they would be black or white.

If there was even a chance of it being an issue, Pike wouldn’t be targeting the kid. He’s not the kind of coach who just offers everyone.

Another theory not out of the realm here - maybe Lebron isn’t so sure right now that Bronny will shine if competing with a roster full of 5 stars at a place like Duke. He’d never let on to that but if that were the case and your Lebron - a place like RU would probably seem like an ideal landing spot. Think about it - kid like Harper shined here as a star. Got us to the tourney. Huge deal at a place like RU where that kind of a year as a role player at a blue blood wouldnt warrant nearly as much publicity.

Wasn’t Gavin Griffith rated the #28 player in the country and Bronnie #29. So if if he’s not that good, what does it say about Gavin?

I'm sorry but I hate this thread. The notion that Pike is some feckless wimp who would sell out and compromise the awesome program he's built to get bullied by some primadonna and his self indulgent family is pretty insulting to Pike. The guy just got lowly Rutgers to the NCAA tournament twice - and really 3 times in a row - we were gonna make it in '20, his recruiting looks strong, he's developing 4 year players, etc. etc.

And I could be wrong but some of the LeBron hate feels like its coming from the shut up and dribble crowd. I understand that he has taken some positions that don't look great and appeal to everyone and I wouldn't expect any superstar at his level to be everyone's favorite at all but he has been a remarkable competitor and he also puts his $ where his mouth is - donated a lot of money

This - even the biggest critic of Pike would have to agree that he knows how to avoid players that are going to be distractions. If we’re in this market, pike has done is due diligence and isn’t concerned.

Wait, what? He's never been in trouble and gives millions to charity. You don't have to like him, but you can't just make stuff up.
He’s not a troublemaker? How many teammates or coaches did he screw?
And you know why he gives money to charity. Dude is a hypocrite. If he really cares about social rights or poor people, he wouldn’t take the dirty money from CCP.

It's pretty offensive to be branded as part of the "shut up and dribble" club just because LeBron is not necessarily your cup of tea. His massive ego doesn’t make him unique among megastars, just make sure wider doorways are part of the RAC renovation. Locker room lawyer, and if he’s not a certified coach-killer he certainly operates in the shadows.
