I don’t think a Harper has to worry too much about money. And besides it’s not like he’s be getting no NIL deals at RU.That’s all good, but NIL
Dylan Harper probably cares less about name image likeness than other top recruits because his family is well off. But I don’t see the floodgates opening up because of him, because he’s not like other recruits. The thing that Blue Bloods have that we don’t is fan bases with a bigger history of financial involvement. If we can get on top of that, the sky is the limit. And that seems like a more doable task in basketball than football. But I have no idea where we stand on that. There’s not a lot for blue bloods to use AGAINST Rutgers except they’re blue bloods and longer histories of success… but in this world of instant gratification and recent success it’s difficult to argue against us at this point ESPECIALLY given Dylan’s familiarity with the program.
His path to college will be interesting to watch.
I never met someone who didn't have interest in making money for themselves bc the family already had sum lol. Ron Harper played basketball 30 yrs ago, are they really that rich?I don’t think a Harper has to worry too much about money. And besides it’s not like he’s be getting no NIL deals at RU.
Respectfully, that is just silly. Duke basketball is Alabama football. They have placed 68 players in the NBA in recent years and 59 are name brand players. Dylan is involved in large part because of Ron. And that is noble. But if Scheyer is really focused on him it is a stretch.Rutgers has recruited on very even footing with both UConn and Iowa and is amazingly still in it with Kante and will be until the end.Recruiting is on the upswing.
I believe that if he signs… the flood gates will be opened.
That sad thing is… to me… other than a name, the blue bloods don’t offer anything better than RU in regards to path to success/NBA.
Sure, the aesthetics may be bigger and prettier, but it’s know that RU is improving facilities.
And Dylan has seen it all up close and personal.
Has he stated anything about a possible announcement timeframe?
I disagree. I think Kids see RHJ in the league. Cliff getting ready to go. Griffiths coming in (with respect on the AAU circuit).Dylan Harper probably cares less about name image likeness than other top recruits because his family is well off. Guess we’ll have to see it play out.Respectfully, that is just silly. Duke basketball is Alabama football. They have placed 68 players in the NBA in recent years and 59 are name brand players. I think all that matters. RU is finally close to being on the same level as top schools in terms of facilities, coaching, path to the NBA, etc. But to most kids who don't come from wealth, a hard offer of a $100k signing bonus will tip the scales 95% of the time. With NIL, it's entirely possible that Rutgers will start to be able to put money up for top targets now and close the gap. I have no idea where we stand with that though.I disagree. I think Kids see RHJ in the league. Cliff getting ready to go. Griffiths coming in (with respect on the AAU circuit).
Get Dylan, or another high 4 star (w AAU affiliation), mixed with continued NCAA appearances (in progress), and facilities(in progress), and I believe we have what we need to go forward.
The key thing is how does Pike close out ‘23 and ‘24.
From a fan perspective, I feel good. But we’ll see.
Arch Manning probably doesn't have to worry too much about money but that bidding went up to what? $3.4 million?I don’t think a Harper has to worry too much about money. And besides it’s not like he’s be getting no NIL deals at RU.
Not sure you can assume that about family money, per se, since he is Cooper Manning’s son…not Eli’s or Peyton’s….Arch Manning probably doesn't have to worry too much about money but that bidding went up to what? $3.4 million?
I believe there are blue blood coaches who believe that Rutgers has the best basketball facility on the east coast.Dylan Harper probably cares less about name image likeness than other top recruits because his family is well off. That's a lot of money.Arch Manning probably doesn't have to worry too much about money but that bidding went up to what? $3.4 million?
The RAC isn't close to being the best basketball facility on the east coast. The facility needs a major upgrade to include additional seating, rest rooms, concession stands and a new entrance and promenade area .The RAC has relevance because of the crowd noise that gives Rutgers a significant home court advantage in a 8000 seat arena.I believe there are blue blood coaches who believe that Rutgers has the best basketball facility on the east coast.

I agree the APC is a outstanding practice facilty for basketball, wrestling , gymnastics.and health care. Not the RAC, the APC
Who really knows how well off they are -- don't assume anything.Dylan Harper probably cares less about name image likeness than other top recruits because his family is well off. I agree with this, but this doesn’t exactly make a great case for him to come to Rutgers, and i would really like to see him come to Rutgers.Think he’s going to be looking for a place that’s going to prepare for him for a 15 year NBA career. 1 or 2 years of NIL has nothing on that.

The median lifetime earnings for a worker in the U.S. -- 1.7 million . Ron Harper made 35 million in the NBA. I think the family is OKI never met someone who didn't have interest in making money for themselves bc the family already had sum lol. I’m sure the last part is true -that all kids (or most) like money. It’s naive to say the decision is the same though for a kid who grew up with nothing where that $100k is an instant life changer for the entire family.plus I don’t think it matters if families have money or not. If the kid is being offered 25k more per year or $100k more per year. The money and material incentives is going to be a major major factor for any 17-18 year old. It’s a power move for any kid to have their own stash and be able to not have to listen to parents based on the “I support you” grounds anymore
I didn't assume. Not sure you can assume that about family money, per se, since he is Cooper Manning’s son…not Eli’s or Peyton’s….
Manning descends from gods and isn’t he the single #1 recruit in the nation, at quarterback no less. I don’t see Dylan commanding anything in the same atmosphere.Arch Manning probably doesn't have to worry too much about money but that bidding went up to what? $3.4 million?
