I ll be at NIT semis. Nice doubleheader this year.
I just read this is the last year they’ll be playing it at MSG. Interesting. Not much of one, but potential for getting to MSG was the only redeeming thing about that crappy tournament.
Really? Where will NIT be next year? This is news to me. Are you sure you’re not referring to Pre season NIT?

You’re right about this being the last year of NIT at MSG. I did not know that. A shame but I guess all things must end. I don’t know if they announced who won the bid for the NIT Final 4 for the next 2 years but I did read that St Louis - of all places - was going to bid.
It was not super long ago the NIT gave a bit of an advantage to local teams to make it to the garden
The new ownership decided to make the selections more pure, no favoritism, which could wind up with four out of the area finalists
I would think that the attendance for the semis and final would be substantially less than if a RU or SHU, St John's etc were to make it
It was decided that it was best to have the best teams there with the possibility that the attendance might suffer
If the tourney is moved because of poor attendance I would think that the newer policy is at least partly responsible
They may not care about it anyway

The NIT has been at Madison Square Garden since 1938! Really curious for the real reason that it is ending this year there. I am assuming it is because of a money issue.
Maybe they wanted an extra Billy Joel concert??

For those bashing this tournament, you do realize they have the NIT in football too? We call it the Pinstripe Bowl, Quick Lane Bowl, Insight.com Bowl, hell even the Texas Bowl. The International Bowl is the CBI.
Not true at all. 68 teams make the tourney. 4 make the football playoff.
