He was benched behind two freshman this game. Don’t get me wrong it was well deserved. I believe Curbello is from NJ and we have some minutes available for sure. Just a thought.

Illinois got beat up at the guard position by Houston......Houston ran high screen and roll and Frazier. Curbelo and Plummer just never got over screens to prevent the easy looks for Shead...(6'4" 210).

On the Curbelo situation, he was part of assistant coach Orlando Antigua and his connection to Illinois....when Antigua left for Kentucky, it was thought Curbelo would transfer back towards NYC (St John's was rumored to be an option). I think he sticks with Illinois, Plummer and Frazier depart.

A few people picked Curbello as a second team All American before the season. I have never liked his game. He dribbles way too much. turns it over too much and often shoots way too much as well. I would pass on him. I would take Hawkins as he played with Mag in California and Coach wanted him for a long time.

I think we could get 3 years with Hawkins right -- because of the extra yr rule. He was one of the player I really hoped we landed. His potential is extremely high when his game fully matures

Id take both players. Its not like we have alot of talent right now. Curbelo can get into the lane and handle the ball. Would be a big Help to Mulcahy

Curbelo has the ability to dominate games also.
Yes he does. Loads of ability. Does not seem to have the head…especially at PG. Underwood will be bald after two more years of him….or he’ll have to use an even brighter orange hair dye.

Good to be fast to start but you have to be slower to finish. Curbelo plays one speed, fast.

I hope we can do better than curbello. He would be the most hated player on this board if he came here.

I would have jumped at Curbelo last year. No way do I want him now. My remote would be lodged deep inside my TV screen during his first game here.
Young was like that though. Pike might be the right guy to tame him.
