No a true Rutgers fan realizes that Pike's not the answer, unlike you clowns

why are you calling us clowns? You are SUCH a troll dude. I feel TERRRRIBLE for the miserable life you seem to have.

And if you’re not trolling…and not a loser…just admit you’re an a-hole for posting this 1 minute after the final horn and expecting some sort of real discussion.

This thread is ridiculous. The loss stinks. We lost in double OT in the NCAA tournament. 4 years ago we were hoping for a winning record. The last time we’d had that was a distant memory. Perspective needed here. Geez.

Paul didn’t have a good game but this wasn’t on him. It turned out to just be a really really bad match up for Cliff. We had zero rim protection underneath.

Moron we were the 44th ranked team in the country. It’s only a play in due to the moronic tourney rules and auto bids.

Thank you Mike... Prior to this year not one of these clowns who are attempting to give me s*** would have ever said that the play in round is the tournament. The tournament is and has always been a field of 64.

Fluxy what are you going to do now that you can't defend Pike till November. Fluxy, give the board of prediction on how well your boy Pike will recruit and earn his long-term contract

This s***** desert town has been rated consistently as one of the top travel destinations in the world. Go on SantaFe.org and read the accolades from all over the world. Where do you live, guaranteed it is rated nearly as high as Santa Fe for visitors or quality of life

Really guys. So ******* childish. Either speak like adults or don’t speak at all. I’m talking about everyone. Not just Santa Fe. Because everyone here has good points just can’t debate with each-other properly.

Thank you. Another Rutgers fan who can see that after 6 years it ain't happening
When you say it ain’t happening, what is it? Advancing in the NCAA tournament? That’s an issue for lots of coaches, but at least we’ve reached that point. Do you remember the embarrassment of the Rice scandal and how other schools would laugh at RU during the Eddie Jordan era? Pike’s gotten us past that, to the tournament multiple times and advanced once.

Look around the Big Ten. Fran has what is likely his best squad since he took the Iowa job but has never advanced to the Sweet 16 in his head coaching career. Purdue has reached the Sweet 16 five times under Matt Painter but they’ve only reached the Elite Eight once. Greg Gard? Two Sweet 16s, that’s it.

So what exactly are you looking for out of Pikiell? For him to get RU past ND and Alabama, beyond Texas Tech/Duke and Gonzaga to the Final Four? The realists in this fan base just want a squad that consistently contends for a tournament spot and maybe catches lightning in a bottle once in a while. So far, Pike’s gotten us there. If we don’t take the next step in the next 5 years, then this reaction might be warranted then. For now, celebrate the season and shut up.

Fair enough...let's call it's stale mate....but he has to recruit better than he ever has to get this program to the next level and not take a step back, let's hope he lands the 7-footer from Lafayette.

No doubt. But he’s bought himself enough time. If a few down years leads to developing some guys and another multiyear run like this, the fan base would take it. It’s the next five years that will determine his future. Right now, I think we’d all take a multiyear rebuild and another two or three tournament berths over tearing everything down.

Never forget the messages on here when we got an unknown combo guard from New Hampshire and an injured big man from California that only the Ivies wanted. Pike followed that up with Ron Harper’s son that nobody recruited and some lanky guard from Ohio that Pike settled on because the guard he wanted ended up at Wisconsin the year after that. They all seem like big time gets now. So I’m sure I don’t speak for only myself when I say I haven’t lost faith yet.

So much this!

This is why I don't understand why people won't let the games play out before they panic.
