they always beat Rutgers...why congratulate them when they keeping smiling at your expense?
Rutgers has beaten Northern Indiana College four times, including humiliating them with traitor Troy Murphy at The RAC in front of a very, very loud RAC crowd. It was a great night for Rutgers fans. Here is the game-

The Juwan Howard school of sportsmanship .

Rutgers players played their heart outs, but lost in double OT.
Notre Dame won the game that wasn't over till the last seconds, I congrats them for their win and not put in my usual insult when I mention Notre Dame on this board.

But expect me to show very little respect for that school in the future.
For now I'll try to show a little sportsmanship, even if I'm totaly bummed about Rutgers loss to ND

Was a very good game where both teams played well.

I think Pike is the best thing to happen to Rutgers hoops in a long time, but I think he got outcoached in this game...or we were at least out-executed. But by and large, whichever team lost the game was going to be very disappointed because both teams did enough to win. Had Notre Dame made a few more free throws, they would have won in regulation, while Rutgers figuring out how to defend Notre Dame a touch better gets Rutgers the win. But both teams made big shots at critical times as well...and it was a very good game.

Credit to Notre Dame, though. They never fell into the trap of trying to play 'their game' by shooting three pointers...we took away the three all game and they exploited it by keeping five guys around the three point line, pulling our defense up high, and attacking the basket. It was really good coaching and really disciplined execution by Notre Dame.

Was a sucky outcome, but that was also the type of game that makes you love sports.

I hate ND with a passion, but unfortunately I think your post is spot on in terms of Brey’s game plan and ND’s execution. They simply played better than we did and deserved to win.

It reminded me of Tom Brady and the Patriots...if a team is going to give them the 6 yard pass underneath all game with the idea of taking away the big play, Brady would hit it over and over and over again. It was frustrating as can be to watch, but whenever they needed to score, it seemed like they could get a good look.

Probably gonna end up being the best game of the tournament. Social media thinks both teams are amazing. Probably still good for recruiting.
Funny and probably our best looking loss lol. Prime time thriller tourney warmup. Great Sportsmanship in game. We ***'d up but if you're going out this is how you do it (from a national exposure standpoint not as a long time suffering Rutgers alum fan point).

Agree. I’ve seen headline saying this game is an instant classic and probably for most people and Notre Dame fans it is. Unfortunately being on the wrong end of the score at the end the instant classic is an instant heartbreaker.

Last night was a fantastic game. One of the best I've seen in a long, long time. There's no shame in losing to a team that has a great performance. Sure, I'm pissed off in general but that was a game for the ages, IMO.

I know everyone wants to blame Pike for everything all the time but I'm not sure how a 2 point loss in double OT is coaching circles around someone. The game was a toss up according to the book and that's exactly what it ended up being.

Sorry, I'm probably being too rational for some here.

ND played a very good game. We had the game more than once but didn't execute. Still would have if it hadn't been for the God awful charge call on Ron & the other brutal foul call on Caleb's block, not to mention the non call on the foul on Caleb at the end of the 1st half. As my son & I said before the game, you've got to beat ND by 10 to win by 1.
