BigTen has 9 NCAA entries last two season with a strong showing in the All American announcements.

ACC has had so-so strength of numbers to the Dance.

Is this a result of Rutger's and Maryland's membership to the Big Ten? Recruiting trending to the Big?

There’s no doubt RU and Maryland helped the BigTen bigly. BigTen was on the verge of irrelevance outside the Midwest…especially in basketball.

In the 4 seasons before Rutgers/Maryland arrived, the Big Ten was 1st, 1st, 1st, and 2nd in KenPom’s conference strength. I love the addition of Maryland and Rutgers, but we were far from being “on the verge of irrelevance”.

Yes and Yes - The additions of RU and Maryland were clearly the most valuable conference additions during the last round of realignment - and it is not even close. I am not even sure if Texas and OU to SEC will even come close. Location location location!

If you think casual fans on the eastern seaboard cared about OSU, Michigan or Wisconsin making a final four run back then, you’re mistaken.

A big impact IMO is the improvement of the SEC in bball coupled with some excellent coaching hires.
