Dang, three on first-team from the B1G?!?! I wonder how many times that has happened, if ever. Wow. And bada$$ that Ron gets honorable mention AA. Just simply awesome. And well-deserved. P.S. Where Jacob at @kyk1827 ? Ha, JK. 😉

Now need the B1G to show up in the NCAAs. Get 4 in the Sweet 16 including RU. 2 in the Elite 8.

Why would the official Rutgers account tweeted that out?
That's like saying Texas A&M made the NCAA Tournament because they were on the 1st 4 Out.

There is nothing wrong with being named an AA Honorable Mention - it's a great honor for RHJ.
Stop trying to diminish it by putting out false information.
They are saying "Honorable Mention isn't good enough on it's own so we're going to say something else" which is wrong.

Not a member of the 1st thru 3rd team which is the criteria. But there are only 8 players on the Honorable Mentions? Isn't it usually a ton? That's a great recognition. Wow.

I don't check every year but when Douby was named AA Honorable Mention there was a ton of guys listed.

Yeah, we've had a bunch of guys listed as Honorable Mention "All America" like John Battle but there were like 50 other guys with Honorable Mention then. If they're only going to recognize 8 guys for Honorable Mention they might as well just call it 4th Team. I didn't think it was a big deal that Ron was Honorable Mention until actually looking at the list. One of the Top 24 players in America.

The article says the list of honorable mentions “includes” so may there are more that we’re not named in the article?

Retire Caleb for DPOY B1G. Retire Ron for HM AA and possibly Erving award. Retire Geo because he made the biggest difference of any RU player I can remember, rooting since 1975.

His domination while having the offense run through him was overlooked.

I wonder when National Defensive POY will be posted. I know Caleb was a nomination. Anything yet?

Congrats to Ron. Very under appreciated but that’s driven him his entire basketball career.

Well everyone laughs at you anyways, just because …….
He was almost right once and runs here to tell everyone, what an ***. The truth is that Ron tested the waters probably wouldn’t be drafted and came back. He may get drafted now but will likely make money somewhere.

It’s ok to change standards, it’s done all the time. Retire Ron, Retire Mac!!!
As far as the past players who got HM, and don’t have their numbers retired, they will get over it!
Newell 138 and I would be a lot more decorated, If All East and All American standards where the same in the 1980’s as they are today.

Hey don't be so modest.
You've posted threads about Ron leaving for the NBA for 3 years now.
Take a bow.

June 2019 (prior to his sophomore year)

(weirdly the thread won't link but just search for it - trust me it's there)
"Hes gonna be sold as draymond green-lite........Unfortunately weve seen him for the last time in person"

I was a little surprised (and honestly heart broken) when there was no draft prediction prior to this year.
2nd round "imo"? You don't say. Considering nobody is projecting a 1st round pick that's quite the limb you are going out on.
The real question is can RHJ be drafted prior to #47 overall - the memorial "Ignas Brazdeikis" draft slot.

Thoughts on a Tobias Harris comparison for Ron?

Tobias a couple inches taller, but I could have sworn they had the same body type in college

Especially given Ron’s relation to Kobe (like family) … I think #24 should hang in the rafters. Conference player of the year, #22 should too. And #0, iconic, the face of the program’s historic return to the “big” stage … all 4 should be in the rafters, not to be worn here again and always remembered for what they did and the chance they took
