Wow . What a screw job. The more I think about it we were screwed 3 ways :
1) They made us and not Michigan play in play in and we had better conference record , finished 4 to their 8 , played top 3 times , Illinois , Wisconsin and Purdue 2x and they didn’t and they finished 17-14 to our 18-13. ;
2) We are playing Notre Dame in Ohio , a 3 hour drive , so essentially a road game ;
3) We play at 9:10 Wednesday night and when we win , we have to fly at mid nite to San Diego and now schedule says we play at 4:15 pm on Friday , which is 1:15 west coast time. They could have put us in Pittsburgh , Buffalo or Greenville , SC and kept us east of the Mississippi but didn’t. Nothing easy for our Scarlet Knights.

its not a screw job

here is the deal, we have played, others havent, our feet are wet, first four teams have pretty good success in the next round given the difference in seeding....there is a two hour gain of time too

this is not a charity, unless you are a top 16 seed you should be at a disadvantage and especially if you are one of the last schools in, relax

This. We are in the party. We have absolutely no idea what this schedule means for us or our opponents. Maybe we play better due to it - who knows. We are alive let's enjoy the ride.

1) we didn't deserve play-in game 2) they gave ND a home game 3) should RU win, they put us in the farthest region possible 4) MI sucks and didn't deserve a bid.

Sorry, there is no justifying making a team that has a 9:10 Eastern Tip which is late already and then have to fly 2000 miles and be scheduled at the earliest possible tip. 1:15 Pacific? You’re already “punishing” a team by making them play an extra game to get into the 64 team field. For the sake of having a competitive game wouldn’t the NCAA want one of the teams to not be completely exhausted? Whether it be Notre Dame or Rutgers, it doesn’t make sense.

Update: 1:15 Pacific isn't actually the earliest tip believe it or not. There's one earlier.

Richmond and Va. Tech both won 4 games in 4 days as pretty heavy underdogs. These young pups will be fine.
They weren’t schleppping across the country in the middle of the night while their opponents were rested. Everyone is on an even playing field in conference tournaments with byes being a reward for a season of achievement.

it's the 2nd tip off of the day, primetime involves the more local team for the pod so they weren't going to be throwing RU into the later session.

Never ceases it amaze me how people are always thinking that there is some vast conspiracy against Rutgers. We sometimes think more highly of ourselves than we should. Be a consistent year after year NCAA team with good TV ratings and we'll start to get the breaks.
There are a ton of teams that have had more NCAA appearances in the past decade than we've had in our history.
I'm sure that Pike nor the the kids are complaining about the schedule

How about we just win game 1 and then worry about the rest.
Yes
If we lose game one no one should complain
If we lose game two, looking jet lagged….a minimal amount of complaining is ok, but not much, since we could have been left out totally

Providence, RI is closer to Rutgers' campus than Dayton is to Notre Dame's...would you consider a Rutgers game in Providence a "home game"?

If Rutgers can't pull it out, it certainly isn't because Notre Dame is playing at "home".
It may not make a difference, but you have to admit that it's at least a little bit of an advantage for ND that their fans can go to class or work on Wednesday, eat an early dinner, get in their cars at 5pm, and be in their seats in Dayton before the 9:10 tipoff.. And a lot of ND fans and alumni live even closer to Dayton.
