Oddly enough it was the thought that came to me tonight. I was watching VTs freshman guard scoring and it made me think about when was the last time i saw Jalen score. I wasn’t trying to bash him. I love Jalens D. He will be a key player for us. But i had to look at his stats to see it was 15 games ago that he scored a FG. I really do hope he can develop an offensive game. This is what you think of at 9pm on selection Sunday Eve?
How about this question, how many steals has he had in the minutes he’s played versus other first-year freshmen in the Big Ten? You’d be surprised. Future Caleb
I’m guessing your one of the guys at the RAC who yells NOOOOOOOOO rvery time McConnell shoots. Not bashing Jalen here. Just curious if his 14 consecutive games without a FG in a single season might be a record.
Unfortunately i now live in Houston and haven’t been to the RAC in 20+ years. I yell NOOO from my couch when Geo is chucking up 3s when he’s stepping back doing it. I’m comfortable with Caleb shooting if he has his feet underneath himI’m guessing your one of the guys at the RAC who yells NOOOOOOOOO rvery time McConnell shoots.
I do go to a lot of Rutgers away football games….Unfortunately i now live in Houston and haven’t been to the RAC in 20+ years. I yell NOOO from my couch when Geo is chucking up 3s when he’s stepping back doing it. I’m comfortable with Caleb shooting if he has his feet underneath him
Glad your in Houston. Geo Baker didn’t get the nickname Step Back Baker for nothing.Unfortunately i now live in Houston and haven’t been to the RAC in 20+ years. There is also a reason we go to Harper at the end of the game now, rather than GeoGlad your in Houston. Geo Baker didn’t get the nickname Step Back Baker for nothing.
Alright I was trying to defend your post but now ur talking silliness. It depends on which player came to play to give the ball to at the end. There is also a reason we go to Harper at the end of the game now, rather than Geo
My apologies. I read your comment about you being glad I was in Houston as a dig at me. Anyway, we’ve gotten way off topic. I just want to see Miller attempt an open jumper. Opponents give him space to shootAlright I was trying to defend your post but now ur talking silliness. It depends on which player came to play to give the ball to at the end.
Yup. We might be surprised who rises to the occasion when they have to.Right now he’s in there for one reason to be an extremely annoying gnat to our opponents guard and does it very well. Lots of things change year to year.
D1 players regardless of class aren't usually this offensively inept. He’s a freshman
I don't think there was a line crossed in this thread. We have some really great “fans”…. Does it make you guys feel better about yourselves bashing an 18-19 year old who works his *** off to get better everyday. Sure hope none of the players read this board but I am sure they do. Was on the wrestling board the other day when one of the wrestlers came on to defend himself and his teammates. Think about that next time you start a thread like this.
Souf was also a grown man and added nothing on defense.D1 players regardless of class aren't usually this offensively inept.
Hes a quicker version of souf Mensah at this point
In 180 minutes souf had 17 pointsand 13 assists. Miller had 15 and 7 in 182
Steals were 7 to 4 miller.
A defense only (and I mean only) may work in the America East. This is Big Ten. We can’t have players like this. And even his defense doesn’t impress me
I was just wondering if it was a record. This might be one of the most non sensical posts on this board. That's a pretty high bar to reach.
Apology for being overly harsh.I was just wondering if it was a record.
Basd on sibstitution patterns there have been occasions where there were only 2-3 scoring threats on the court. The lack of scoring from Miller is just systematic of lack of scoring from the bench. There was no bench scoring against Iowa.I am once again asking this board to stop confusing legitimate discussion and criticism of a player with "he sucks and will never be anything."
We're playing 4 on 5 on offense when he's in the game. That is undeniably true. We've seen other players take big steps forward offensively under Pikiell but we can all acknowledge the situation with him is unique. I can't think of any other high major players in the same role. Certainly not from a guard, maybe there's a big man whose only job is to go in and protect the rim.
If you watch the replay there was little if any contact on that call. Davison dove backward when Jalen was a solid foot away. He’s good at flopping but the refs didn’t give him any calls Friday night against MSU. He was throwing his body all over the floor and screaming at the refs every time I looked at the TV. His parents were also arguing every call. Yet somehow the MSU players all seemed to respect him after the game so I’m not trashing him. I’m just saying he works the refs verbally and physically every game.I think his offensive highlight was the charge he got called for on the fast break. He’s obviously waiting for the ncaa tournament to score
Yes , I know. Just saying it was miller’s offensive highlightIf you watch the replay there was little if any contact on that call. Davison dove backward when Jalen was a solid foot away. Lol I sense sarcasmMost of our troubles this season can be traced back to Jalen Miller's offensive output. Kudos to the OP.
He did have a few nice fast break layups but he definitely didn’t look to score while in there. He sold out on D but to play more he has to be more of a threat on O next year.Yes , I know. Just saying it was miller’s offensive highlight
Caleb is 6'7. Totally different type of playerSouf was also a grown man and added nothing on defense.
Give it more than a year and let him develop. If he becomes even proficient offensively he could become another Caleb.
That was Jaden not JalenGive it a break he's playing out of position and he left high school early to play here. Plus he really likes it at RU.
