Michigan losing 3-1 in the 1st to the 1st team they've played with a pulse all season thus far: Marquette.

10-9 Michigan late 3rd. There's a free feed link over on Inside Lacrosse but they're inside and it's mediocre to say the least. Not the score you'd expect from a 16th ranked team.

We will learn a lot about Michigan on Saturday when they host 17th ranked Delaware.

Beyond 10-12 at this stage they are Just putting names on list. Still trying to figure out which teams lost because they played tough comp and which teams’ wins are a function of a weak schedule.

I’d take 0-3 Loyola to beat 6-0 Michigan by 3-4 goals.

Marquette is terrible too.

Barley squeaked by another terrible team in Bellarmine and then lost to Utah and Jacksonville.

I don't think I've ever seen a major conference team with a schedule as weak as Michigan's. It's embarrassing.

Marquette's is an absolute joke too.
Marquette is not a good team...at all. They’re small and are not athletic.

UM is in trouble

I take particular pleasure when RU beats Michigan at any sport. In large part due to an obnoxious colleague of mine who is a "Michigan Man" despite growing up in Nassau County before heading to Ann Arbor for undergrad. Right up there with Notre Dame on my list.

If my sons team does not beat Michigan, he may not be allowed back home. I’m only half joking

Michigan fans are the worst fans in the B1G. Snobby, country club, cheese eaters and wine drinkers, the whole lot of them. PSU fans at least crawl and hide during basketball season or jump on the Nova bandwagon here in Philly.

Well they need to start today with Towson. With a rough start this becomes about as much a "must win" as you can get.

Love to see Loyola and Army in the win column today.

I never understood the NOVA, PSU alignment. Had a beach house in Avalon/Stone Harbor for years and was surprised how many band-wagoners there were with no connection to either University. Carried over the "what years were you at Nova?" to now include the Michigan/Ohio state t-shirt wearing crowd I see.

South Jersey PSU/Nova fans that didn't attend either school or have family who never attended either school are complete clowns.

Agreed ND fans are the worst. But at least most subway domers carry their stupidity over from season to season and are loyal to the brand. These pikers switch t-shirts first week of December.

You guys have no idea how bad UM fans are. I live 30 min north of Ann Arbor. It’s brutal. But I do live 40 min east of the school that owns them in football 😉

A little RPI update today.

5 Maryland
6 Ohio State
7 Hopkins
8. Rutgers (17 SOS)

34 Penn St
50 Michigan (60 SOS)

We play #17 Stony Brook on Sat

Princeton is currently #15

I get RPI needs more data to become more accurate...but this gives us a feel as we head to the second 1/3 of or reg season

SB will present some problems. I watched one of their games. Their attack, specifically Palanetti, can make plays. He’s good. They have a couple of middies too that will present problems. We can score on them. Hopefully we have a good day at the x. Win there and our chances get much better.

They will be coming in with confidence too. Not to get ahead but Princeton is going to be a big challenge. They are good. I haven’t seen Cornell yet but Princeton looks like the second best team in the Ivy so far to me.

There seems to be a lot of them in LA. In my interaction you’d think they are Harvard academically and Alabama in football.

I’ll say I respect their school spirit. That’s about as much as I can say.

If we beat SB, that’s a quality win vs a top 20-25 type team. It’s carrying more weight now and if we can win, it will end up helping us from a SOS standpoint as I don’t think they’ll lose many games

That’s just it...there is UM fan created reality and then the real facts

you realize UM had not win a big ten title since 2004 before this year ??!! Many of their fans just choose to ignore that and think they’re Bama/Clemson/ Ohio St all rolled up into 1

oh and they have lost 11 of the last 15 to Michigan State...I’m sure you guys here would say “no way, that stat is fake”...it’s not.

Where you live, you get the industrial strength version of the UM attitude. We on the East Coast get the industrial version of Domer worship.

Out here it’s SC. They run this town though. Plus my wife went there so you either jump on that bandwagon or you wind up getting divorced. No one loves SC more than SC.

It’s some of that. More just they are smarter and more successful than the UCLA types who are jealous.

Funny story. Old roommate was working out there and got company tickets to the Troy Aikman - Rodney Peete USC - UCLA game. Watched the barbs fly between cars while slowly going down to the Rose Bowl and invited a group. He had a built small beer pong table that fit on the hood of his car. Apparently, nobody in Southern California played beer pong. We became a real curiosity while tailgating.

SB has a few nice pieces. It will be a good test.

On a more somber note, @rbled @rufamily, I am not sure if you heard or not, but Coach Hayes is not doing great. Feel free to reach out directly for more details if needed.
Yea, I have been hearing the same for a little while now.

Was sad to hear about coach Hayes.

But in other more positive former coach related news that also happens to be somewhat relevant to @Caliknight and me, looks like Coach D played a big role in bringing the World Lacrosse Games to San Diego in 2023. Games will be played in the new SDSU stadium which will seat 35k. Should be a nice venue.

Syracuse 10 - 7 at the half. Pulled their goalie, switched defenders on Nichtern and dominated FOs from the middle of the 1st on. Didn't know TD Irlan is a volunteer assistant coach.

Loyola went with Murderers Row with their OOC slate. You can't tell me opening up with Maryland, Hopkins, Rutgers, and Towson is a good idea. Need to worth in a cream puff or 2 early on before taking on the powerhouse programs.

Makes our Army win more valuable. Helps offset Loyola losing today to Towson. That's a bit of a shocker. Towson was 1-3. I wasn't expecting this. Loyola was playing better the last two games. Let's hope they can somehow knock off Duke.

Such a bad narrative. UCLA is a better school and a better athletic program.

USC is a great school. It's very highly ranked now. 27 in the country. UCLA is 20. So negligible. USC has won 133 national championships. The are an absolute force.

As to which school you would rather go to, trust me, SC wins all day every day. It's a much more fun school, and the alumni network out here is second to none. SC owns Los Angeles.
