To the “Rutgers“ fans who own these season tix...

please give them up. You haven’t been there all season and I’m tired of sitting behind the A-holes from other fan bases you are selling them to.

We have too many real life die hards that would kill for those seats for this to keep happening

And there are quite a few diehard RU fans who would love to have those seats. It’s not an off-the-wall suggestion to email Hobbs (or the Senior Associate AD) about this. About eight years ago I actually received a call from IIRC Jeff Brown, who, at the time, was in charge of gameday operations and other things. I’m in 115 and one game there was a total douchebag Maryland fan yelling the whole time, and so many of us wanted to fight the guy. Nobody did, but about a week later I got a call from Brown, as did everyone else in my section, encouraging us not to sell our tickets to the opposition. I never do and never would, so I was thrilled to get that call because it meant they were taking it seriously. Rutgers has the right to not sell tickets to people who don’t attend or who own those seats just to sell to the opposing fan bases for a profit. I hope they make a change for next year because I’m hearing a lot of stories like @BKIn118 just told. My sister sits in 116 and a couple of times this year, including today, completely classless ******** have been right behind her.

I hear you. Keep this is mind

Stub hub somehow gets dibs on certain good seats. Probably part of the sponsorship

I sit in 105 for football (50 yard line….prime giving section ) and there are four seats next to me that for years have been stub hub purchases. For every game …sometimes by Rutgers fans and way to often, the enemy, it’s someone different

I have never met the season tickets holders and i always ask where they got the seats and they say….stub hub

I think stub hub owns them somehow

Bet those seats you mention in 102 for hoops are same deal

I have reported this to my connections at Rutgers, and they have promised to investigate. I hadnt considered that an entity like Stub Hub could be involved.

Either way, it sucks to be put in a spot where our game day experience is constantly degraded night in and night out

Rutgers needs to fix it. Unacceptable.

I have 4 seats in the 100s and would never sell or give them to non RU fans and ,by the way, I never sell my tickets. I do notice that many times team member families get some seats near me that I suspect are given to them by long time ticket holders. On occasion those seats go vacant.

This sounds right because there just seems to be more instances of this since the sponsorship took hold. That and the tickets have been more in demand. Similar strip of seats behind me in 216, but I haven’t had problems for the most part.

Nice. First they sell your section then they sell the seats next to you to visiting fans.

The people behind us in 213 do the same thing. I think they’ve been to 3 games this year.

Hope that those people took enough of a bath this season on scalping that they don't renew. The seats next to me are on StubHub every game and if they're available this offseason for seasons I'm buying them

I don’t know how you would stop this problem . I have an acquaintance who has tickets in the 100s and big donor .
He told me had been selling a lot of the basketball games this year . I told him I would be interested in buying some games and would pay market value, whatever it is . Then he told me some lame excuse his son-in-law actually sells them for him and is his ticket partner . Yeah right .
Translation: the money they are making on StubHub is too good and the open market wins . Capitalism!

That is my take as well. Kind of discouraging for season ticket holders to know that they will be sitting next to opposing fans every home game. It’s one thing if those opposing fans are well behaved. But the yahoos make it less than pleasant.
Yep a reason why I never moved my football tickets was because I loved the people around us. The fans around you can really impact the experience maybe more so than anything else.

It killed me to give up my football tickets years ago. I had tickets in 109 from when I graduated in 2007 until 2016 or so. Had the nicest family in front of us, practically watched the kids grow up. Great fans to watch football or just shoot the **** with

Same here. At one time I had as many as 16 season tix in my name for football. By the time we were done with the first Ash year, I had 2 left, and just canceled them — instead I would buy tickets on game-day and sit anywhere I wanted.

There is a very simple suction to this problem...just play well and win the freakin games!! That will shut up most opposing fans.

Wait our own self-proclaimed and nationally supported best game day experience/home court advantage in the country?

That’s a stretch

Yep. Last night had Wisconsin fans in front of us (we're in J). Very seldom Rutgers fans.
sec 214 also.... the usual seats right behind me were once again sold to the opposition...... they cheered loudly after baskets by their team, but I can't say that they said anything smack worthy

I still find it annoying..... it was not this way years ago, a visitor in my area was rare.... at that time the tickets were held by our fans and they usually showed up themselves.

The unfortunate part is, the person who owns the seats is probably a football season ticket holder who bought them to get more priority points. The ticket office did the opposite to me. Begged me to buy football tickets with the sole benefit of priority point and told me to sell them.

I would take 4! Next year I'll even come. My little one will be fully vaccinated mid March

I can attest to this. Our original seats in 2004 were in section 102 stayed there for 12 yrs. best fun group of fans I've seen. Same group every year and everyone showed up. No selling to opposing fans and people became gameday friends.

We upgrade to section 125 and we now have opposing fans around us, with sparse showings from the ticket holders. Great seats but the people around us suck balls. We should have kept the crappy seats, we all miss those fun times and fans.

What is the season cost for 100s? Per seat per game?

I have 2 seats in 200s but would love to upgrade/get lower.

I have more than enough priority points and donations to cover any costs there. Just never looked into the lower section before

I sit in section 125 for football in first 10 rows so having great seats is def great—basketball has traditionally been harder to make every game in the past but with work from home flexibility it has helped

Happens everywhere unfortunately
Rule thumb is simple
Respectively cheer for your own team and don’t do the home team when you are a visitor
As long as that happens I’m cool with it

It's also annoying to put a great seat up for sale on our message board at face value (I make the donation) to a sold out game and rarely if ever get a single inquiry. Now I just wait for someone to post a ticket wanted post first. Talk is real cheap. $$$$

There's a much simpler solution to the problem--don't have the university dump the tix on Stub Hub, or have the university be more selective about who they allow to own season tickets. We're not always going to play well, but we can have far more RU fans in those seats, win or lose.

Completely agree…majority Rutgers fans here and should get first dibs. Should just post how many seats available and then barter offline
