This game is ginormous

A misstep here will really crush our positive perception wave, especially against an undermanned team.
I don't think it would "crush" the team but it would definitely add pressure for the next few games. Bottom line: We are a better team than Michigan and should win this game, especially given the suspensions. If we won at Wisconsin we can certainly do the same tonight.

The only thing I fear is Michigan nailing three-pointers like layups. If UM hits 12-of-21 from beyond the arc like it did in its big win vs. Purdue, we'll probably lose.

However, if Michigan plays its usual game and we play like we have for the past 5 1/2 games, we'll emerge victorious.

That's really the key. I felt like they relied way too much on the 3 in the Wisconsin game and they couldn't hit anything. They almost have to rely on it tonight, so if they are hot, we could run into problems.

Most / all here watch a ton of B10 hoops on top of RU - at this time we are simply better than Michigan without Diabate (I think we are better in any case but add in road game would make it even). Could we lose - absolutely, but it is bonkers that we are 5 to 6 pt dog in this one. I expect it to be close much of the game but look for RU to go on 12-2 ish run at some point in second half to break this open and coast in to a 10 point win. UMs lack of depth against a team that defends as hard as we do / makes you work on both ends will catch up

Basically like in the Illinois and Purdue games let the big man in this case Dickinson get his but guard the three and we will be fine because they can get hot from 3 and that is my only worry tonight

Well the line is made to get roughly equal betting on both sides. UM is a national program playing at home against a team that largely hasn't played well on the road.

Apart from the line business.. I think it's a toss up. Go RU!

I agree with Zap but this game may be the hardest game left for RU. Michigan is a wounded dog. I expect them to come out swinging. Win and RU is in terrific shape. Lose and the next game becomes the biggest game. Go 2-2 over the next 4 and all is good.

Our 3 point D definitely needs to be on point. I think it’s the key to the game.

Normally I'd suggest the first five minutes could decide this thing... but, well, you have all seen this season.

But I'd expect the Michigan team to rally hard behind their backup coach and knowing they were shorthanded... think how surprised we were when the Rutgers team, down Geo, fought like hell to beat number 1 Purdue.

I also expect the refs to go easy on calls knowing Michigan is home and shorthanded and not having to deal with the butthole head coach. So the Michigan players' extra effort (ie frequent fouling) could go uncalled.

So we have to match their intensity and commit as many uncalled fouls if that is the way it is going to be.

It will be very interesting.

And I pray our bigs play Dickinson as a LEFT HANDER.. force him to go RIGHT... don't get hooked by his fouling-spin-move.

Biggest keys to game tonight: 1) Mich from 3 pt land and 2) the Refs. We may be able to overcome one key, but not both.

Saying most people here watch a ton of big ten hoops outside of Rutgers games is an exaggeration and you can often tell by posts who does and who doesn’t.

I think the most likely flow to the game is Michigan to jumps out to an early adrenaline-fueled lead. It will be mostly gone by halftime. And we take the lead in the first 10 mins of the second half and hang on to a small lead for the W.

Just blowing off some steam... I absolutely despise it when people say college basketball is all about March Madness and it is the only thing fans care about. Tell that to diehard hoops fans, who, year after year, watch their teams battle in February for the opportunity to compete in the Big Dance.

For the past few weeks, I, along with many of you, have been living and dying with each game Rutgers plays. These February games are just as important, and often more important, than games played in March.

That is all.

To the casual fan college basketball is all about March Madness. There's nothing wrong with that. I know lots of people who don't watch college but love the tournament. Better than them not caring about March Madness either

Its not only 3 point defense but equally important limiting Michigan offensive rebounds.
They are lacking depth but it looks like Michigan will be starting with some size in the front court. We have the size advantage with the guards. Need to team rebound

I’ll be surprised if our guys don’t show up ready to play for this one.

I just hope the refs don’t start calling chippies like they did at Purdue.
I just hope that Cliff stays out of foul trouble.
Playing a 7-footer who can score on the road in this league is tough.

Following the Wisconsin win, my thinking was we've done enough so that we just need to go 1-1 in each of the last 3 weeks. On paper, it was very hard to do in week 1, but we did it. Week 3 is undoubtedly the easiest of the 3 weeks. So here we are in week 2. I think we all agree we'd like to repeat last week and get a win in the first game to take the pressure off the 2nd game.

My point is that getting a win tonight is less ginormous than getting a win this week. But to prevent from having to be nervous wrecks from now until Saturday, it would be nice to end the pressure tonight.
