I'm mixed on the players being punished here. If your coach, your captain, the man you look up to...if that guy is in a scuffle then you've got his back. Right, wrong, or indifferent, you're rolling with him. That's how a true team operates.

Now, having said all that, the coach did a really stupid thing and put his players in an awful position.

What does that equal at the end of the day? Whats fair?

I think Diabate and Michigan's best player Dickinson (despite not being involved) each suspended 1 game, and Michigan docked 10 points for our game. It's only fair.

Better than nothing and Gard didn't get away scott free for his alleged part of the incident.
Players got off lighly, following HC's lead is not a good reason or trying to protect teammates and coaching staff isn't good enough to get away with throwing down on an opponent.

Past practice needs to be part of the judgement when punishment is handed out and by the way some here have talked about Diabate, he might have had priors that should have been taken into account when he was disciplined.
Hope Howard is required to take an anger management course.

they prob interviewed the Wisc asst who said he was a perfect angel and innocent victim so they closed the case and let him off with no penalty. If Wisc had any honor they would do something internal to Krabb and also to the coach who gave that WWE move.

Above Tweet says “I would have gone with a rest of the season suspension… but this seems reasonable and appropriate.”

I’m thinking not a big deal, 1 game in the Big Tournament and maybe 1 in the NIT. 😉
