Yup...I hadn't seen that freeze-frame before. It's a foul.really.. what are these guys arguing against?

I just made it... I could not believe people were still arguing thisYup...I hadn't seen that freeze-frame before. It's a foul.
It's actually more blatant than I initially observed.I just made it... I could not believe people were still arguing this
And it explains the injury as well as the turnover. I suppose you can tell people what you saw on replay and they won't believe you.. maybe the screengrab will do the trick. But you had to see THAT moment.. before and after look clean.. other angles did not show it. After the arm impact Melendez steps cleanly around him.. because he moved Harper to to Harper's right... making room. Tough call for a ref... but a FOUL nonetheless. It's actually more blatant than I initially observed.
Now you're talking. I bet Townes van Zandt, too.John Prine, thank you very much. And Steve Goodman.
Watched the replay again in full screen mode,...Melendez hits Ron's arm first and then his hand hits Ron's shoulder. As I said I didn't catch the arm contact first. And it explains the injury as well as the turnover. I do not see that shoulder touch at all. Not sure what you are seeing. But I did not realize that it was the newly injured Harper who rebounded Melendez's miss after that "steal"... guessing the waves of pain did not hit until after that.Watched the replay again in full screen mode,...Melendez hits Ron's arm first and then his hand hits Ron's shoulder.
It appeared that his hand glances off Ron's shoulder after hitting Ron's arm. Again I did not see the arm-to-arm contact initially.I do not see that shoulder touch at all. ummm....not so ticky-tack broAnd we all complain about officials calling ticky tack fouls. It was neither a foul nor a dirty play.
sorry...the foul was actually worse than I first saw it...#MyBadOh God! Please make it stop!
You should change your handle to BoBorowski.ummm....not so ticky-tack bro
Why? You still see no contact? You should change your handle to Mr Magoo. You should change your handle to BoBorowski.
Never said no contact. We would be giving up 85 pts per games if every slight contact was called. Basketball is not a non-contact sport. Why? You still see no contact? You should change your handle to Mr Magoo.
Slight? Sure Magoo.Never said no contact. We would be giving up 85 pts per games if every slight contact was called. Basketball is not a non-contact sport.
Hey…I resemble that remarkWhy? You still see no contact? You should change your handle to Mr Magoo.
Rutgers said he’s day to day. Teammates etc said he’s in good spirits. Speculation is he’ll play Sunday vs Purdue. He’s been tweeting. Nothing about injury however.Back to topic….. is Ron ok? How bad is the injury?
A mini Willis Reed moment? Inspires the team to a win!Rutgers said he’s day to day. Teammates etc said he’s in good spirits. Speculation is he’ll play Sunday vs Purdue. He’s been tweeting. Nothing about injury however.
Oops...ruball78 will have to settle for MiniMagoo then.Hey…I resemble that remark
My major problem with basketball as a sport is the ability of officials to affect the outcome. True in all sports, but glaring in hoops. I like the fact that B1G officials generally let the guys play and decide the game for themselves.I actually thought it was a good play watching it live.
The replay shows Melendez made contact a hair before Ron was set to catch it. So maybe it was a foul that 1) refs didn't see--which I have already noted--or 2) it was a foul but NO CALL was appropriate given the way the game was being officiated. #2 is a matter of opinion. But it's clear there was contact that disrupted Ron.
P.S, One dingbat poster says there's a rulebook for this LOL
If Ron comes back to the ball it doesn't happen. Simple as that. If you aren't expecting somebody to challenge you on an inbounds pass, that's on you. I guarantee you that Ron ,if asked, would say as much. Roles reversed he would be on that guy like white on rice. The bad guys are playing to win too.really.. what are these guys arguing against? people going out of their way to say Ron messed up.. took his eye off the ball... his had was moved by Melendez impacting his elbow/upper-arm

If there was fear he could make it worse by playing at Purdue, I could see resting him for Michigan to allow more time to heal. If it's a matter of playing through pain only, then I expect him to give it a go.My fear would be a fracture....then a tough decision would have to be made.
Imo the B1G refs are very inconsistent. My major problem with basketball as a sport is the ability of officials to affect the outcome. True in all sports, but glaring in hoops. I like the fact that B1G officials generally let the guys play and decide the game for themselves.
Other boards reporting it is a thumb injuryImo the B1G refs are very inconsistent.
He was probably instructed not to say anything about his injury.Rutgers said he’s day to day. Teammates etc said he’s in good spirits. Speculation is he’ll play Sunday vs Purdue. He’s been tweeting. Nothing about injury however.
yeah.. I see all the "NOT A FOUL" people want that aspect of the discussion to end. I agree. It was a foul. And it was okay for it to NOT be called.99.9% of the people checking this thread are looking for info regarding Ron's injury.
Can the absurd foul debate end please. Start your own thread and go nuts.
"reward him with a foul"?Refs aren't going to reward Ron with a foul there for his lackadaisical effort. He was non schalant and careless like they weren't full court pressing. The "foul" and injury don't happen if he goes to the ball.
