I'm pretty sure that Purdue,Michigan State.Iowa and Ohio State had similar reactions.

Screw the league blue bloods. Only Izzo and Matt P. Have any class. Actually add the Illinois coach.

Not sure. Gard said something in pikes ear and Pike jerked his head around and just moved on. It was strange. Not the usual smile stuff at all.

Two things. First off because of the comments here re: the handshake I just went back and rewatched it and I'm not seeing it. Looked normal and harmless to me. Unless I'm missing something.

Second, I agree that there may be a little bit of an "us not them" type flavor from the players, but not overly so to the point of cockiness. I thought it was more of a case of the dipsh#t reporters... THEY were the ones who had a "Rutgers?! Really?!" type-flavor to their questions, kind of baiting the Wisky players. It was subtle but noticeable. Their media doesn't "expect" a loss to us because it rarely happens, and never to date at the Kohl Center until Saturday. So I felt like it was more them and less the players. And I also think ANY player responds with a bit of an "us not them" type answer in a postgame presser after a loss, even our guys would and do. These guys are all confident Power 5 players with talent.

We don’t win at Kohl, but they don’t win at the RAC at least when fans are allowed to attend (see last year). Even Eddie Jordan’s RU team beat top-10 Wisky at the RAC!

99% of postgame pressers are just media attempts at getting clicks, where they ask the dumbest questions imaginable

1% of the time someone will say or do something stupid and it gets views

eliminate them entirely and it won't make a difference to me

A normal post game from a team who just lost to what they consider an inferior product. It is nothing unexpected and our guys just need to focus on tomorrow’s game against Illinois. The Wisconsin program as well as all the others in conference don’t realize this isn’t Rutgers of the past. The key component tomorrow night is the players themselves.The live crowd as they have done now very well for several seasons needs to be at the top of their game. Let it all out … GO RU!!!!!

Wisconsin was ranked #14 and they lost to an un ranked opponent at home, who they had never lost to at home before. Totally normal reaction

I didn't mean to suggest there was a big issue there. I just saw a less than positive reaction and funny look by Pike after Gard whispered in his ear. . My wife said it too.

I actually recall seeing a little moment during the exchange as well. Was subtle, but there.

However, IMO, the body language of both wasn't strongly enough suggestive of anything to reasonably speculate on what it was about. Could've been bad, good or neutral but unexpected.

Ultimately, none of that matters. All that matters is winning consistently.

What I saw was Gard talking in Pike's ear,
Pike understood and chose not to reply, perhaps when your opponent just received
a devastating loss, maybe saying nothing is best.

I sure hope the players aren't assuming any of our remaining games will be easy wins the way our fans are. One constant has been we play like **** at home if we already beat an opponent on the road earlier in the season. See Nebraska two years ago, Maryland this year AND last.
Gotta bring a whole new level of effort to beat UW again. They will be ready to beat us at our place. Just like Illinois will be tomorrow to finish the sweep.
