Vegas basically giving us zero chance to win
We are +310. That's pretty close to zero respectWhatever the money line is the chance we have to win via Vegas . Surely, it’s a lot more than 0 percent
We own Indiana. Take those 9 and runThese are the analytics breakdowns which are essentially the current Vegas Lines for the rest of the RU season going back to last weekend vs Michigan State. Keep in mind, I don't know how much weight is put on the road vs home, but my guess is, it's just data driven for the entire body of work and as more data is entered in, ultimately impacts these numbers.....RU is in a stretch of 8 straight games where they're a solid to a very significant point underdog.
Michigan State +3.5 WIN by 21
Ohio State +3.5. WIN by 2
@ Wisconsin +9.0
Illinois +6.0
@ Purdue +15.5
@ Michigan +9
Wisconsin +2
@ Indiana +9
Penn State -4
I am not going to say X number of wins will get RU into the NCAAs, but any of these wins the rest of the way, home or away, are weighted significantly in terms of where are metrics have RU projected.
That’s 3-1 . Bet $100 to win $310. . That’s nowhere near zeroWe are +310. That's pretty close to zero respect
Good point. I feel like that’s RU MO in both basketball and football. We’re usually not been the kind of team that makes a blowout look closer than it was at the end once the cat lady officially sings.Feeling like either we win outright, or we lose by 15+.
All that said Cubby, I’m shocked at the home court advantage in college basketball.Unless you played sports at a high level, analytics means sh*t when an athletes' heart and desire take over. The final 3 minutes of the Ohio State game is an excellent example. I've witnessed and been one of those athletes who WILL themselves to places Vegas or the opposing teams are unprepared to understand. At some point, you get tired of the BS tossed your way, and you set out to prove everyone is wrong, including some of your supporters/fans.
What I find amazing is how some Rutgers fans jump on and off the bandwagon according to someone else's feelings about the program. We mock PSU and their cult-like atmosphere in supporting their sports, but they stick with their players/programs through thick and thin situations. We just smacked two good teams back-to-back, and it's something we haven't done in a long time. Still, many of you show not an ounce of belief we can win today.
There is a reason why coaches said, "it's us against the world." because it's true. The only ones who believe all the time are the players and coaches in that locker room. I'm one of those who say that the next game is a win even if we are 0-25. That is the mindset you have to have if you expect to succeed.
Kohl Center is very very tough place to win. They've lost there twice this season but one was without Johnny Davis. In the last season with fans in the building, they lost only once (Illinois got them by a point). Year before that they lost three times... Two of those were Purdue (made the elite 8) and Michigan State (made the final 4).
Our record on the road with fans in the stands in 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 is 4-15 with 2 of those wins over nebraska. So people aint wrong to have no confidence in us on the road until we prove otherwise.Unless you played sports at a high level, analytics means sh*t when an athletes' heart and desire take over. All due respect zappa, but hard to compare game/fan atmospheres, and therefore impact, between basketball and baseball. All that said Cubby, I’m shocked at the home court advantage in college basketball.
Forget our struggles on the road, I’m talking across the board.
I’m one who did play a sport at a high level, it never dawned on me or my teammates playing the Red Sox in Fenway or the Cubs at Wrigley was some huge disadvantage, it was fun to play there.
Yet the home court in college basketball plays out with regularity????
Agreed. I understand it in football and a little bit in hockey. In football the away team has to go on silent count and therefore the home team defense can time up the snap and tee off on passing downs. In hockey the home team gets the last change to put out their preferred line vs the opposition and they only have a long change one period vs the away team having it twice. Basketball is just noise, so i guess i underrate the energy. Granted i never played sports at a high level but in high school i loved playing on the road and playing villain. All that said Cubby, I’m shocked at the home court advantage in college basketball.

I hear you Sir, but You’ve never been to Fenway or Wrigley if you say that. All due respect zappa, but hard to compare game/fan atmospheres, and therefore impact, between basketball and baseball.
Shutting up the home crowd is every bit as fun and energy producing as playing at home imoAgreed. I understand it in football and a little bit in hockey. I've been to both...I am not saying there isn't passion at baseball games. I was at the clemens / piazza bat incident game...lol. insanity.I hear you Sir, but You’ve never been to Fenway or Wrigley if you say that.
If you’re talking into consideration the physicality, it doesn’t play out in football or hockey either.
College basketball is by far unique in this way
I personally think we win today. I just feel like something has clicked
I just dont think theyre elite and frankly they lack superior athletes. You think Wisky is not a true Top-15?
True. And Gard said the other day that he never worries about winning margin. Once the game is in hand, he wants to get his starters outWe don't have to come close to winning to cover 8.5 though...
This game could be not close all game and back door cover
They have 1 elite player, play tough team defense are extremely well coached.I just dont think theyre elite and frankly they lack superior athletes.
at home theyve had some close calls too
1) beat nichols st by 3

Hasn’t happened yetLet’s see if Pike will have them prepared to play 40 minutes on the road
