I know this is crazy, but on the road if your best player rises up and leads you, everyone else will follow.
Time will tell and we’ll need to see it, but if Paul keeps demanding attention, defenses have to adjust to guard him….we could be tough on the road, led by the guy who’s running the show.
We often look rudderless away from home, can you imagine if Paul by himself can straighten the ship!!!

You are so right, Zap. Opponents will have to go from matching up their worst defensive wing player to playing their best defensive player on Paul.

Opens things up forHarper/Geo/Caleb/Mag.

I am convinced it will happen on the road now. The second half of NW unleashed the triple double threat we all have waiting 2.5 years to emerge. He makes everybody better , which you could not say when any of our stars went off and had 25-30 point games. The balance in the starting lineup and having 6 players in double figures with Dean’s tremendous improvement will be our team going forward. Difficult for the other team to stop. Any attempt to double or take the ball out of Paul’s hands will just free up someone else. Hopeful the Jekyll and Hyde crap is over, 3 halves and counting .

The opponents' attention to PM will come if he keeps up his play.

I liked that Izzo said that PM "bully balled us"

However, we have to be consistent with our shooting

Spot on Zap!! This is the type of player I have always expected out of Paul and to see it unfold give me massive hope because it will bring out the best in every other player.

Geo is a wing and great mid-range game after some penetration - keep him there and let him create after ball movement
RHJ is multi-faceted and its either a catch and shoot which he is most successful(look at all those shovel passes from Geo this year) or he is a mid/low post player who can create---get him the ball in those possessions and he will dominate
Cliff is most effective in pick and roll situations esp with Paul because the way Paul uses his body to draw 2 people towards him and his ball placement to get to Cliff has been crucial as he doesn't always have the best hands that we have seen. I still want to see the alley-oop gone from existence in top of the key scenario that seems to happen often and crushes momentum(unless it is a set play)

As for others, just keep cutting to the basket, screening, and move without the ball. Shots will come to you.

I do not care who brings the ball up the court but I need to see the ball go through PM's hand to create the above.

Its not even about being consistent...just take high percentage shots rathe than hoisting step back 3s with someone in our face or when time is running down. We had many easy layups/dunks yesterday due to ball and player movement. That is key for a team that is not a high percentage shooting team

Movement off the ball!!!!!

If everyone does it…..Geo had a nice basket off of a Cliff screen at the foul line.

I hope you're right, but the Wisky game will be a huge test. Yesterday was great for Paul, but the other guys had great games as well. It'll take another 40 minute effort by everyone to beat Wisky and avoid another slow start. Also, teams will game plan for Paul so we will need to adjust.

Rudderless is a good word zap, and the emergence of Paul might just right the ship. Until now he’s been deferring to Geo and Ron, paying his respects so to speak. Now he’s like, let’s do this together guys, I got you.

Getting back to the handshake line where Izzo took one second with each player till he got to Paul….he grabbed his arm and got on his ear for a good 30 seconds.
You know exactly what he was telling him!!!!
Enter the portal and play on a top 25 team next year?
I’m only half kidding. We need both Mulcahy and Cliff next year to even have a chance of competing at a high level.

i would imagine it was something like,
“You played a helluva ballgame kid, keep doing what you’re doing and you guys are gonna surprise a lot of teams this year. Well done son.”

I overheard Izzo asking Paul for Kalil Hall’s lunch money back!
I like Izzo when he genuinely compliments opponent players play...but bet assured he is in Kalil Halls ear all week.

I'd love to see how a MSU/RU game in a B10 tourney round....if it happens

12 assists yesterday is 7th best all time for RU (tied with several others). 16 by Ellerbe is the tops.

The off ball movement was great. We flashed it earlier in the season when we looked good.

The off ball movement is key bc it forces your man to cover and focus on you and not double and clog up the lane for Paul and Cliff. If these same plays happen and everyone is standing around it makes it so much easier to defend
