I believe he can if he wants. He’s not an NBA player yet. I love his game but he’s not there yet. Does he choose G League over one more year at Rutgers?

He can. I doubt he will. Most people don't want to be in college for five years. Especially those with professional aspirations.

I'm hoping he does. Further conditioning, he'd be a monster next year.

He can come back and I wish he would but I doubt he will. At least Paul showed he can score tonight and he and Cliff could look very good for next season. McConnell could also return but he needs to become a little more consistent on offense. I think mag will be very important next season and hopefully that Hyatt, Jones and Reiber can all improve more by next season and that Simpson can contribute a lot. If Ron ever returned and Paul can contribute more on offense we could have three very good offensive players with Ron, Paul and Cliff. We might be decent next year. Don't give up on these guys.

I hope he does come back. He’s shown he can be great, but getting that version of himself to be the most regular version of himself is the key

At this point he is what he is at the college level (a very good player, albeit a slightly inconsistent and often unassertive one). He’s best off going pro after this season — if he is to make a “leap”, it’s more likely to come at the next level than it is at this one

What’s the point? He can make money and can improve much more playing in Europe or the G league. I doubt if next year’s
Rutgers team will be as good as this year’s even with him. I would think he’d agree that it’s time to get on with his life.

Is it really a foregone conclusion that Ron won't be back? I'm sure he was saying "last go around" not expecting to miss the tournament his final year.

He's only 21, he could continue with conditioning and getting in great shape. Be the man next year and improve his stock. Get a 5th year of education and work on a Masters. If the G League or European league awaits, it is still nothing like playing for the school you love and playing in the RAC, as you can only do that once in your life.

(Just copied and pasted my response from another thread because I'm lazy)

I kinda got that feeling that Ron & Geo were on that “unfinished business” “last go round” venture heading into this this season. How’s that working out?. They are the same players with no significant improvement , with a weaker team around them, and they both seem less engaged. Time to move on.

Maybe.. but with more growth from Paul, Cliff, Mag, Reiber, Hyatt, Miller, Jones, Caleb (if he comes back) and adding Simpson and a portal player, this would be a real solid team

Yep , Harper had the purdue moment . For that , it was worth returning . But it’s time to move on after the season.
Geo should not have come back. Unless he is really into his masters program , it seemed like he just wanted to party in NB and sell t shirts . Overall , he will be remembered for his body of work . But this is a bad look

Not that he needs my permission or blessing but I'd welcome him back. This team will be missing some big pieces next year and I think he clearly needs more work. But whatever.

He will NEVER be a NBA player. Not too many 6'5" forwards and he is too slow to be a guard.

You really think so ? Four years of conditioning hasn't helped but in one more year he'll be a monster ? That sounds a lot like "Myles Johnson will be an offensive force after a few years in Pike's system."

Early on the talent/conditioning growth curve becomes flat. The NBA culls the 1 and done stars and a few 2-3 year college players then it's Europe or G league for most of the rest. By last year, what you saw is what he will always be.
