I ended up going, fun game, even though East REALLY slows things and limits attempts/possessions. I still cannot believe that a shot clock hasn't been implemented in HS ball. I thought there would've been one by now, at least a 45 second one. Teams can just run clock for unlimited lengths, it's insane. Re: Derek, he forced the issue slightly at times due to this, and his jumper was just a bit off. That said, you can see he is oozing with talent. He's got good length, he's quick, he can really elevate, seems pretty engaged on D. Once again not a true PG... he's a scoring PG like we always seem to land at RU, but he did have a few nice passes. He will be a legit B1G guard IMHO.
Crazy ending to the game with that running three from East's PG at the end from WAY behind the arc, and he got fouled and hit his FT, too. Insane. BTW Lenape seems to have a really nice (and massive) school and facilities. Cool place, fun crowd. They had their band sitting in the stands with the students. East really travelled well though since they're so close. They had at least the same amount of students with them, and at times were louder than Lenape's so it felt like a CHE home game at times. They also had some funny chants. They did the "Mister Softee!" any time one of their players fouled a Lenape kid that resulted in the player hitting the floor, ha. And a couple of times when Derek was handling the rock they chanted "Rutgers Camden!". Was offensive but funny, hahaha.
