Probably because there wasn't a soul in the RAC in the first place.
I don't believe in booing college athletes and would never do so. I don't agree with it, but I can see why it happens. When a talented team is obviously going through the motions and competing way below its talent level, some fans are going to make themselves heard.
It's all about expectations. I attended the 50-point blowout vs. Purdue. RU was so undermannned 6-1 Mike Williams was matched up against 7-2 Isaac Haas at one point. No one even thought about booing. Fans felt sorry for the RU players and were legitimately concerned about possible injuries.

I can't imagine the scenario where I would ever boo Rutgers players.
That was a 107-57 beatdown. When the crowd is that apathetic, they won't boo at all, just watch in a catatonic state. Long live the Eddie Jordan era.
No boos, just some whimpering and sobs at that 107-57 Purdue game.
One of the replies to the Tweets said that fans were worried about losing Willard to Maryland last week. Another said they were booing Willard, not the players.

Everyone was already done by then. You only would boo if you actually cared about something.

I don't agree with booing college athletes but it's nice to see Seton Hall fans actually have high expectations for their team and coach. Willard went to 5 straight tournaments from 2016-2020 and won the Big East twice in that span, If he did that at Rutgers it would be illegal to say anything negative about him for a decade.
Booing isn’t necessarily directed at the players. When who was it Nova came back into game one time and lots booed, that’s directed at the coach, sorry you had to hear it Gary. Or in general, could boo the coach’s decision or the overall team performance which ultimately falls on the coach.
I’m all for booing in rare instances. If I was seton hall fan, I think last night probably appropriate after they have absolutely tanked the last couple games.

I didn’t watch their last two losses but they’ve been playing sloppy/lazy ball for a long stretch. They are too talented to be this bad.

I recall booing the team at the RAC in an especially bad loss to Boston College when it was more than obvious that the team had quit and just did not care.
There are performances by college athletes that deserve booing. There should not be.. but there are... it happens. Have no idea if the HALL squad deserved it... but QUITTING is worthy of booing.
It is a little self-serving for a guy who makes his living by watching and interviewing college athletes and coaches to come to their defense like this.
These are adults playing professional sports ... the Supreme Court said so. Boos are the price you pay for a lucrative t-shirt business.

It’s only entertainment. Does anyone ever boo at a play or concert ? I’ve seen Ru fans lose their minds screaming at refs and opposing players, or should I say college kids. And of course the same directed toward our players. Lame.
There’s 1 ex-RU player who I think is absolutely terrible for a D1 player but I would still never boo him. Internet discussion is not the same thing. The kids have the option not to read it.

We've boo'd at football games. But it wasn't against the players. It was against Ash. I also remember the idiots booing Laviano for coming in after injury. I will never forget that.
That being said, we don't boo much. And SHU has terrible fans. As I said, they were absurdly obnoxious and just generally juvenile when I was at tbe game this year.

I have a hard time booing if it’s just for stInking . They still are college kids . Maybe if it’s a dirty play or something really dumb . Coaches are fair game.
Even on here when I rip , I try to rip collectively and not single a player out . Again unless it’s something very stupid. .
There is also a difference between ripping and fair and objective analysis
Theyre college kids getting free education, will soon be getting 10s of thousands, if not 100s of thousands of dollars thanks to NIL.

My point was there’s people killing SHU fans for booing, while these same people go on message boards and kill the players. No difference between the two, imo
Aiken has been out 3 straight games re: concussion protocol. He's the difference-maker for shoe. Unless someone like Jacob Young is on him...
