He actually was more court aware today than Cliff. And I had no issue with him playing over Cliff down the stretch; Cliff did not bring his A game today.

I think Dean is showing he can and should play more than just a few minutes a game. He seems to have a good nose for where to be and how to make plays. I hope he gets more court time in the coming games.
Our starts are so weird. We are going to Cliff and Caleb early both at Maryland and Minny and quickly finding ourselves in the hole and giving other team confidence.
Should be Geo and especially Ron so he doesn’t go into shell for half the game.

In all games without a dominate big man he can be very effective out there. Nice touch on his tips too. Even the one that didn't go in showed his soft touch
He is also playing more confident which means more aggressive. Block steal and ripping that rebound were all good smart plays
I’ve always liked Reiber from before he even arrived at RU. He is very smooth and composed. And offensively very efficient. Can score both around the basket and outside as a stretch four. A lot to like about his offensive game. He needs to get stronger and better defensively which I’m sure he will.
Agree completely about Reiber being the better play against small lineups. It’s stunning to me that we haven’t developed Cliff O’s inside game at all.
His steal and jump ball gave us two chances to win. He was huge for us today.

By all accounts, he works really hard. So, if this staff can't develop his offense, they need to find some help for him in the off-season. Do big man camps still exist? Cliff is too physically gifted to be so limited offensively.
If Cliff can be consistent on that little jump half hook then he would add a lot to this offensive. It looks close.
While he is contributing to some degree which is more than I expected, I would pump the brakes a bit until we see how he fares when we play against some of the better bigs in the league. At this point I still think we need an upgrade in our big depth.

Very true. Plays with his hair on fire, which is good sometimes but not every time. He’ll definitely figure it out. Not worried about him at all. As fans we tend to magnify deficiencies in everyone after a crappy loss.
The thing is, with his quickness, Cliff gets himself terrific "looks" on the short jump hooks, but his form in actually taking the shot is terrible. It always ends up being a line drive that hits the front iron (and the BOTTOM of the front iron at that).
He should be watching tape of Trevion Williams if he wants to develop his post moves. That kid is MONEY on the block.

IF Cliff and Reiber stay next year, and both continue to develop, maybe we won’t be as poop ip the creek as we think. Reiber plays the stretch 4 and Cliff at the 5?
The same Dean Reiber people were writing off as not a B1G player as a freshmen. No matter how much we think this loss doesn’t impact getting into the NCAA tourney it does . You think we can win 8-9 more games against this competition? The cancelled game also doesn’t make it any easier. The team is in need of a 5-6 game win streak. Do that and we can make it.
Dean Reiber is going to be better than most thought early on. Jaden Jones , Agee-Gonzales ,J Miller ,Mawot-Mag have not shown much all season. Miller on D ( maybe) .So 4-5 players who really probably hurt us by their lack of production. Time to prepare for a Greg Schiano type injection of portal transfers if we are to be competitive in 2022-2023.

We won't know expectations until we see how the portal shakes out. There will be multiple players in the rotation or starting who aren't on the roster
Sure potential is wonderful but do we have a staff that can develop him is the question. Mawot had couple of good efforts along the way so far . We’ll see how these guys play the remainder of the schedule.
We can't have reiber playing the 4 if we don't have a quality 5 who can backup cliff
