He is a Senior who wants a shot to the league and he has been playing basketball for? 20 years?

He didn’t show up today. Maybe the weirdest most inconsistent player ever. Not being in 100% shape and taking games/plays off standing around the three point line. So frustrating.

It looked like RHJ was uncomfortable all game against 7'0 210 Treyton Thompson. They played 6'9 230 Charlie Daniels at Center all game. Pike needed to make the adjustment to get RHJ more to the 3 this game. It was on Pikiell to make the change not Ron Harper Jr. Bad adjustment all game.

Need to ask Pike why he didn’t recruit a true PF.

Rutgers can't depend on making last shots to win games. They have one of the most experienced starting teams in the Big Ten and should be prepared to perform at a high level on the road.Losing this game against a medioce team with three leading scorers not playing is simply mind boggling. This loss will hurt the NET rating.

Doesn’t explain RHJ’s passivity on offense, missing two wide open threes, bad offensive foul and even last shot of game wasn’t a good effort. Never seen such a good player so awfully disappearing & inconsistent.

Pikiell could have easily moved Reiber on the floor with Cliff to match 7'0 and 6'9, didn't do it once, and made Ralph the backup, Minnesota played big 37 minutes out of 40 minutes, we had the bodies to wear them down and we didn't. We shortened our bench playing right into their hands not the other way around.

Love Ron but that last minute of the game was a major head scratcher between the foul and the shot from beyond half court

It looked like we had trouble with the zone all game and it seemed we resorted to outside shots as a result. Then you live or die with that
The zone was a way for Manny not to get over tired on defense, they were still in decent shape physically late, and their shooting is helped also by not being spent

He easily could’ve gotten to just above the 3 point line for a much easier shot….Unacceptable as a senior not to know how many Dribbles he can take. 1 sec per dribble is general rule
Said the exact same thing. Our end of game time management is not good. It’s been a pattern and needs to be addressed. Harper has to be aware of that as soon as the foul was called and the MN player sent to the foul line. Have to have your head in the game and the RU coaches and players have to be communicating that to each other.

I’ll give you 5 to 1 odds. How much?
He will be here barring a scandal, but the criticism is fair. Does RU even practice offense? Because it doesn’t look that way on gamedays. Our two possessions prior to the 3/4 court heave were terrible too.

Agreed. Also, we should have driven the paint all game to get them in foul trouble and pressed to tire them out. We did neither.

Criticism is one thing. Those saying he needs to be fired…….very very different.

OP sounds like my old middle school players…

At best the final shot was going to be low percentage even if he sot it at .01, oh and there are defenders between Harper and where you wanted him to shoot it from.

He has been called for that offensive foul a few times by dropping his shoulder. That was the game right there. Either he makes his shot or gets fouled for the win. He did seem in a daze most of the game.
