Not sure what people were seeing in him. Just hope that we could find a big contributor I guess

This OP is the one who said Mulcahy should not see the Court. That take has sure aged well.

Now another thread to attack a specific player. Geez reel it in.

btw Miller bri gs A specific skill set we really don’t have and that it is and will be helpful in manny a game for a few minutes

Pike is going to ride his starting 5, that realization is all to clear, this is the way it happens, the bench will be called upon at times for minutes and for a basket here or there. Miller is not going to see much more than the 5 minutes he has been seeing and sometimes not even in the 2nd half.

Pike has a well oil machined going and the majority of the bench just isnt up to snuff at this point in any kind of crunch time. Thats the decision he seems to be making and Im okay with it

He’s not 100% ready but he has the effort and D skills. Peek him in the Clemson abs some earlier games is a pest. Just needs to learn a bit.
This

Miller has shown some nice touch off the glass on some finishes. Overall I don't like guards passing up open 3's, but if he's not comfortable and just off the bench, then don't jack it up.
Play D, hustle, and be pesky

Tough crowd. I read this about almost every player on this team at one point or another so it’s kind of like shat up shattenup.
Some on this board are hilarious. They need at least one or more players at all times to try to knock down and complain about. It's rotated between Agee, Reiber, Jones and Miller.

All Jalen Miller has done is come in and provide a defensive spark with his ball pressure. He has not caused harm to the offense. He keeps the ball moving and does not over dribble.

Come on guys. Miller didn’t do anything good but his fouls also weren’t that damaging. They were not shooting fouls. Miller’s role is to relieve our starters for a few minutes and make sure the opponent doesn’t gain confidence / momentum on offense and go on a run.

Iowa’s offense showed it’s only sign of life when we were stuck playing Agee. Thankfully he hit a few baskets during that stretch so it didn’t hurt us that much. But his brief stint should put all talk of Jones playing to rest. Defense won this game and Jones wasn’t the guy you wanted to bring in to sustain the defensive effort. Neither was Agee but our other bigs had 2 fouls. Enough.

There was also a ton of hate on Baker, McConnel and Mulcahy (OP specifically hates Mulcahy).

How does he see the court he is the first one off the bench!! Mind boggling he is just terrible at this point in time
Pike seems to know what he’s doing. How many other coaches in the b10 have had multiple masterful game plans that were executed well that lead to wins like last night and against Purdue?

What are you smoking dude?

When Agee came in Rutgers was down 21-17.
When Agee left, Iowa.was.up 27-24 at the half.

They cut the lead when he was in the game.

Did you even read my post? I was not referring to +/-. We did well on offense during that 2-3 minute-ish stretch but we’re talking about a game where Iowa scored only 46 points, and 5 of those points not only came in the 2-3 minute stretch he was in the game, but he was directly responsible for all 5 of those points. He left Bohannon completely unguarded on the switch for the 3, and then let Toussaint blow right past him. His foul was weak too - lucky it wasn’t an and one. Also - he had nothing to do with the 2 possessions during that stretch that we got defensive stops - more like we were fortunate they didn’t go at him those possessions - Murray missed a 3 right after he checked in, Bohannon had a sloppy turnover and Toussaint missed a fast break lay up along with the putback on his own offensive rebound.

Yeah, right!? Shocker that this was an in-game thread. People should be locked out from posting while watching a game.

I’m confused. Are you trying to say he played good or even servicable defense? On which possession on that end of the floor did he do something positive?

You can’t possibly think he defended Toussaint well. If you think the Bohannon 3 wasn’t on Agee, I suggest you check out Cliff’s defense on similar defensive set rotations in the second half where he either totally altered Bohannon’s shot or stopped the attempt from happening entirely. The Big just has to get there to get a hand up in time. That’s all. Agee wasn’t even close there.

I know it's like a universal sports fan thing but it never ceases to amaze me how people so consistently seem to assume that some guy who never plays is somehow better than the people who are playing. The only ones who have actually seen the guy play have clearly decided he is currently worse than the people who are playing.

It was Mulcahy who left Jordan B. wide open when he went to guard the same player Harper was guarding instead of staying with Jordan.(Announcer said miscommunication with Harper and Mulcahy) .Agee was the big protecting the paint...he ran out to the 3 point line when Jordan B was left open by PM. Go back and watch and get a clue. Because I just did.

And, a quick guard like Toussaint driving past a Big from the top of the key....that never happens....😂. That's a matchup you want as an offense in a pick action, a quick guard 1-1 on the perimeter against a Big. The quick PG drives past them 10 out 10 times. 9 out of 10, it's a layup or a foul.

I don't question Miller getting early minutes. Or Agee getting some PT for low post relief. The curious thing is why Palmquist gets time and Jones doesn't. We don't see practice, but I don't envision Palmquist earning more time than Jones. He brings next to nothing.

It wasn't Agee. I believe it was Palmquist, but I can't be sure it was him who missed the assignments.
