We’ve played three road games this year where we’ve had better players than the other team and we lost them all. I think lack of on-court leadership bites us in the *** again.

Maryland 67
Rutgers 57

I think and/or hope the team that beat Nebraska shows up. Maryland has been playing well, but I believe the right RU team shows up. 69-63 RU

If you look at Maryland stats they average about 71 per game. The 6 man rotation averages almost 67. So they get very little from the rest of the bench. So a good strategy would be driving and try getting them in foul trouble. ( we got Nebraska in early foul trouble and it really helped ). They shoot 31% from 3 land and 71 % in free throws. The starters are tall but, we should match up ok. The 2 guards are fairly tall and good shooters, so Paul’s defense has to be a concern. Getting the ball inside to Cliff should be a priority in addition to Ron driving inside.

I’ll make a different kind of prediction - if we are winning at the end of first half 75 percent chance of win. If we are losing by 5 or less 15 percent chance. If we are losing by ten or more zero percent

Marylans has more consistent shooters and they are playing home.

Maryland 70 Rutgers 61
Their shooting stats are actually worse than ours (believe it or not). The key
matchup will be Caleb guarding Ayala. If we contain him, we win

Yeah, our team does not have much bench. Pretty soon it will be like the old days, where starters play 38-40 minutes...

We get the good Geo.

Besides, it’s not like I’ve got money on the prediction.

I have not predicted scores these last few years but I see Fatts Russell who is some one who is so much faster than our guys. We cannot let him drive to the basket at will as he draws fouls or finds a guy for an easy score. We might have to use Miller on him for several more minutes and hope he doesn't get into foul trouble or I think we might have to use a zone at times during this game. I feel this game will be won or lost on how we can contain Ayala and Young.

That's not a prediction. That's what the facts would likely be.

Fair enough.
Chances that we are losing at the end of the first half by 5 or less: 20 percent
Chances we are losing by more than 5: 50 percent
Chances we are winning: 30

Unfortunately we still do not have enough info because we do not know what you think our chances of winning are if we are down between 6 and 9 points at the half, and we don't know the probability of being down by ten or more because you have not broken out the "more than 5" category.

I also find it interesting that the odds of a first half tie are zero.

Harper has to find his inside game.

I can't predict a road win until... we win on the road. I do think the team will bounce back from a pretty horrid effort at Penn State, but we will still lose.

My gut says UMD. So for that reason I will predict Ru 79-74.

Every time I have a shred of confidence, they collapse. And just when I think hope is lost, they win. I currently think hope is lost. So maybe they win.

MD’s best wins are over 9-6 FL at home (by 2 points) and 8-6 NW on the road, in OT. I believe it will be a close game either way.

I think Geo, Ron, Paul, and Caleb bounce back in this one, just enough to carry the day.

RU wins 68-66.

Containing Ayala and Young are important but not as much as Harper and Baker scoring in high double figures.

Danny Manning coached teams never played defense at Wake Forest
Last 4 B1G games, Maryland has given up 313 pts, 78.3 pts a game.

I predicted the over 135, and a lot of posting up Fats Russell
