And if Pike cant recruit or land some good players from the portal, it could be a while.
Stop. You’re a troll who doesn’t understand that a great couple road game wins in the future could still give us a chance if we play well in the BIG10 tourney. Holy **** teams lose games. Relax. Crying over one loss on the road. But I do agree with pike and his recruiting. He needs to land some great transfers. But the hopes for dancing aren’t up yet. Relax.

the issue is that RU probably needs 3 Big 10 road wins to dance.

Penn State along with Maryland, Northwestern, Nebby are the 4 easiest places to get those 3 wins, losing your first shot puts you in a hole where you need to either win or the other 3 or somehow get an unexpected win at Minnesota or Michigan.

A loss to Maryland IMO puts our hopes on life support, there will be virtually no margin of error given how tough the last 8 games are

IMO, Maryland is easily the worst coached team in the league right now. Saturday should tell us a lot.

they played really good in the 2nd half vs Wisky after being down, they have russell and ayala who can easily score on us

At this point. We should all know we should be ready for ANY game in the BIG10. Idc what the record is.

I'm not going to stop. It's another loss to a bad team that will count against us, and it will not be the last, so get your head out of the sand and deal with it.

I dont think road wins against teams that we are expected to beat will help us.

We need road wins wherever we can get them. Road wins against teams we are expected to beat are still road wins.

A Quad 2 loss to on the road at Penn State isn’t going to count against us, it’s just one less opportunity for us to accumulate the road wins we need.

Yes - although the difficulty of the opponent hasn’t seemed to be that correlated with the outcomes of our games, so who knows.

Also - the autobid isn’t out of the question if we go on a run. Always a long shot, but this year feels like less of a long shot for some reason. And those games are played on a neutral floor.

Have you watched us on the road in the b10 when there’s been fans. We’ve never been good. Lots of bad losses on the road. Even with the “better” team 2 years ago. Last year we had bad losses both at home and on the road.

Don’t see any scenario where this team wins 2 let alone 3 B1G road games this year.

It's very disappointing because of how we looked. It doesn't bode well for the future. But there is the fact that we get to write our future and time to turn it around.

The mental aspect us the game seemed lacking.

I am okay with the loss, its just how we did it that is my takeaway because it does not bode well that this team has truly turned the corner and has enough in the tank mentally to make a serious run at post season. We never really competed last night, just like we didnt compete last year at Nebraska and some other games. Never as good as your last win but also never as bad as your last loss. Maryland provides another opportunity

If this team makes shots they can most certainly win 3 games on the road.

People are making too much of loss in which everyone was ice cold. And hot games/cold games is not new for Harper or Baker. It's not new for most college basketball teams.

I think RU fans are also underrating PSU. The #'s say they are a very good defensive team. And they do have some good offensive players, Sessoms had a very nice game.

There will be more cold games for Harper/Baker. They are far from consistent which is the biggest problem this team has. If these guys dont score, we dont win.

And according to all my RU brethren who are wearing Scarlet colored glasses, Pikes doing a great job because he's seems to be a nice guy and got us to our first NCAA tournament since 91.. wow . And we all know where nice guys end up. Can GS and Fran teach him and his staff how to recruit.... please.

At this juncture in the season, I hope we make the NIT. If so, Harp would probably sit out and Baker may sit out as well.
