Wonder how much time she'll get. From multi-billionaire to prison. Such a fall

She was never a billionaire. Forbes declared her a billionaire based on the $9 billion valuation of Theranos, but that valuation (like all valuations) was simply a speculative paper exercise. At its peak in 2014, Theranos had received $400 million in venture capital, right before the bottom dropped out.

I wonder how much time she'll get, and I wonder how much money she was able to squirrel away.
She married a multi-millionaire in Billy Evans he's heir to the family's hotel chain. He's the one funding her defense she was penniless till the marriage. They also just had a kid together thus why the original trial date was delayed.

She's a cold hearted *****, I put nothing past her. How many people got bad test results and it resulted in serious outcomes do to her trying to protect her kingdom? Wouldn't surprise me one bit if she's using Evans simply for his money and had the pregnancy to draw sympathy from jurors.

They said she never sold any of her personal stock. So she got nothing out of it. Other then salary she paid herself. M
She did marry a billionaire or something recently.

18 months at federal prison out in 9. Her lawyer will ask for home confinement due to COVID.

That's how it works for all those people, they take out loans against their stock holdings. No one actually has hundreds of millions or billions in cash besides maybe drug lords.

All those people? And while they may not hold billions in cash or a bank account, they may hold bonds or dividend paying stocks like Microsoft and Apple and live off the dividends. Last I checked, their valuation was somewhat less speculative then Theranos. There's even the possibility that they may be still working for a living.

Some may work but they are paid in all stock like Elon Musk. These "billionaires" are all on paper based on a stock price. Many financially illiterate people actually think Elon Musk and others like them have billions of dollars in cash.

Elon Musk is "the richest man in the world" today but if the Tesla stock crashed tomorrow he would be broke just like Holmes unless he sold SpaceX.

By my very rough estimate he sold about $1 billion more Tesla stock than he needed to exercise and pay the taxes on his option exercises, so I don't think so.

I doubt she gets any jail time, she might have to stay at home for 6 months and pay a big fine. Her boyfriend she used to boost her company, and her husband she married for his wealth. She is very calculating.

She obviously is more intelligent and conniving than any of the career scum bags working in government which is saying a lot.

Shocked she got that much time.
11.25 yrs. is a light sentence. I think each count could have resulted in 20 yrs. each. I wonder and have no idea, can they now go after her husband's inheritance on the restitution and fine part?

Agree, but still surprised.

A bigger question is what rich guy would want her? She sounds like a dude and is clearly a felon. Weird choice.

Not unless he was involved with the business. Nor should they have that ability.
Agreed. But given her stupidity with her business, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that she wasn’t careful to keep a strict separation of business and personal finances. In which case, they could go after her personal finances, and her husband‘s if they are still married.

As a young, blonde, STEM gal who studied at a prestigious university, she fit one of the superficial narratives that bestows instant sanctification from the hive mind. People desperately wanted her to be some estrogenic avatar rescuing humanity. That's a reason they punished her - she made the hivers look bad.

Her pops Christian Rasmus Holmes IV, was a vice president at Enron

Personally, I think it's always been just a witch hunt.
