I’m very gullible, I thought Ralph was gonna play a little like Thurl Bailey

Agee has done some good things this season. He's done some terrible things too. He was also arguably the nicest guy on the team during the signing at the RU OSU football game. I'm pulling for him to give us some good production the remainder of the season. Dude has my support. The constant bashing of him on here is a bit odd IMO. We have had some WAY WAY worse players at the 5 spot over the years. Let me know if you need me to drop some of you some name reminders of who those players were, ha. I can do that.

No need I'm pulling for Ralph, I was just expecting something a bit different.
But it is a prime example of why a coach shouldn’t laud a player and create unreasonably high fan expectations.
I know you may say something snarky like excuse the coach for trying to give the kid confidence, but it doesn’t work that way in high level sports.
If the coach creates a buzz around a kid and the kid struggles, unfortunately right or wrong he pays for it.

I was saying what I said in jest. I am shocked how bad these 3 are. Neither are playable right now. One of our starters is absolutely dreadful on D too. We have like 4 players in our current rotation that belong.
The most highly touted of the 3 I fear will never play

I really feel there’s more to his bad playing and lack of effort on the court than we know of. This family issue thing is serious and that can affect how a player plays. So in this case whatever is happening at home is obviously affecting his playing. Idk maybe his mom and dad don’t care as much as some of these other players parents do. We never know what’s going on until we hear the story. So hopefully whatever it is that’s keeping Agee from looking like he wants to be off the court is dealt with.

Agee is a grown man. He has a son back in CA.

5 might be a project that starts to shine as a junior, after showing more talent as a end of rotation player as a soph.
Like Myles maybe Jaden should have redshirted to develop his game to fit the college level better.

The Center today for Maine, Effotuwe is a transfer at 7’1 from Louissana Monroe, would’ve been a nice add for us. But sure he likes his starter minutes
Would have gotten decent minutes with us and have been a major plus over Ralph. In fact on some plays today he outplayed Cliff

I would bet that everyone on here is pulling for him. Pike got him late because no one else wanted him. He certainly didn’t win any recruiting battles for him. Then, he built him up, which set unrealistic expectations and actually set him up to fail. How he didn’t see this is mind-boggling.

Amazing to think how bad SJSU must have been last year, if he was arguably their best player.

I still can't believe major minutes at the 5 in the B1G wasn't a bigger draw in the portal that could have lured someone better. We need to hit on a transfer big for next season that is B1G backup caliber at least
Exactly..especially since if the kid is good enough, he would play a ton here since he and Cliff would be our only two bigs.. nothing says he couldn’t play alongside Cliff at times either.

Take a kid like Harrar. He’s not going anywhere with that team and was Iinterested enough in leaving to enter the Portal, yet decided to stay. I think we are a definite tournament team with him and I think we are 9-2 right now with him (Lafayette, DePaul, UMass). The kid at WVA that we missed on barely gets off the bench yet he’s better than Agee.

Bottom. line is we are not recruiting hard enough or not closing the deal.

Harrar wanted minutes, end of story. Enough about Harrar

And he would have had a lot of them here. Harrar is just an example. And playing 20+ minutes on a B1G potential tournament team should net you way more than Agee….and yes, it would be more than 20 minutes if the player was capable. It allows you to rest Cliff, play him alongside and limits the time you have to play non B1G talent.

How many B1G teams have exactly one big?

Harrar is getting 26.6 MPG. Cliff is getting 26.9 MPG. That means that without significant time at the 4 (which is a hard sell with a guy who is 0/3 on 3PT over 4 years, shoots 64% on FT, and is basically a non-factor outside of the paint), Harrar would be looking at his minutes potentially being cut in half.

We need 1-2 more viable big men, but this just wasn’t the right fit for what he was looking for. Doesn’t reflect on the staff at all.

I’m not saying that they should have necessarily gotten Harrar. I am saying that, barring any injuries, part of Pike’s 2.6 million plus salary is ensuring we have more than one B1G level big man.

That kid is one of the worst conditioned athletes I've ever seen. At one point in the first half he was practically begging to be subbed. He couldn't breathe, couldn't run, looked like he was out drinking (heavily) the night before.

Harrar is not coming here with Cliff
We don’t want Harrar at 4
We don’t want Cliff playing 15 minutes

NOT a FIT

as far as us not getting a 5…..guards are a dime a dozen. Filling the roster from the portal of guards is easy. 5s on the other hand are a rare commodity. We have a better chance of landing a 4 star HS recruit than a serviceable 5 from the portal. There were slim pickings this year and so many schools wanting one.

I know the exact moment you're talking about. He got a shoulder to the chest from ron and I think got the wind knocked out of him there

I thought that Reiber would have been a factor as a big man this season. Palmquist as well. At least Mag is showing promise. Hope he gets extended minutes today vs CCSU.
