What have we learned? Streaky shooting team who gets very little offense rebounds, slow, in general. SO…

Best chance to win games, these guys get lions share.

CLIFF
RHJ
MAG
CALEB
GEO

Next off bench
HYATT
MILLER
JONES
PAUL
AGEE… yikes!!!!!

Not good. Oskar, Reiber both a waste of scholarships, busts, sadly, and this falls on PIKE. Sorry, but imagine if we had even one more guy that could create and break down teams? We got 3 more wins easily.

Agree with your starting lineup. Jones in the doghouse and something seems off. I think Paul your first or second off the bench. Reiber does not seem like a good fit, however I’m not ready to put Oskar on the junk heap - he can shoot and I think there may be something there.

Agee is awful. He makes little if any effort at rebounding and defense. Reiber is just as bad , maybe even worse. I like Miller's defensive intensity even if his offence is a WIP. Jalen Jones is an enigma to me. He may have all the skills needed on offense but his attitude, body language and intensity is awful. One has to wonder , does winning mean anything to him or is it just about playing time and points?

Hard to explain Purdue showing to tonight. Play calling, passing, assists, energy level in Purdue game was significantly better.

There's a reason why almost all teams have a better record at home - that's especially true at the RAC. In 2019 we were 18-1 at home and 2-10 on the road - literally a tale of two teams home vs away.

1 big man and no real 3 point shooters.....love Pike, but how does that even happen in a P5 conference?
Jones would be a three point shooter, but our offense resembles a bunch of chickens running around with their head cut off. The first half was basically each player taking turns posting up. I honestly can’t watch. It’s not enjoyable

Paul will be first off the bench and should be. Jones may finds his shot And if so should play more but if not, belongs on the bench. Miller seems to be the latest shiny, new thing to a lot of fans but so far at least he’s shown no offensive skills.

Jones passes the eyeball test, sculpted his body in the off season and looks extremely athletic.
You watch him walk on the court thinking he’s gonna bend his knees, get low like Michael Jordan and move like a gazelle.
Then he stands straight up, barely moves his feet and plays with no instincts or emotion.

No, he shouldn’t be. Hyatt should.

Paul 1st of the bench to play where?
Help in the paint, rebound, be annoying and get down and dirty?
Or defending a fast twitch guard ?

There is no need for him to cover the quick twitch guard. Others can do that, although his on ball defense is overly criticized and his help defense is quite good.

What does Hyatt provide? There’s no evidence at all he is a shooter, he gets lost on defense, doesn’t have a handle…. I’m not seeing it.
He’s a better shooter, finisher than Paul

Finisher yes, shooter?? No evidence he can shoot. Watch the ball rotation on his shot. It has side spin and that makes it impossible to be a good shooter. Paul has good form, led the team in 3 point percentage last year and hopefully can get it back this year. Hyatt has bad mechanics. Hopefully he finds other ways to contribute.

You can't win in the Big Ten without a stable of bigs, and we have one. That's on Pike
When you play against Illinois with Kofi and Indiana with Trace Jackson Davis and Purdue with Williams and Edey, and Michigan with their lefty center who I cannot remember his name just now, you will have to play Agee, Reiber or even Nathan for a few minutes at a time. You have no choice. But everybody else , the other 9 teams you really do not as Wisconsin , Northwestern , Minnesota , Ohio State , Maryland , Nebraska , Michigan State , Penn State and Iowa do not have dominant centers. Lidell at Ohio State has taken his game more and more away from the basket and is deadly shooting from 15-20 feet so Hyatt or Ron or Mag can play him for the 5 -7 minutes a game that Cliff takes a breather. Pike used 4 guys at center against Purdue and 3 were used for a total of 5 minutes or maybe a little more when Cliff took a breather or when he got hurt. That will likely be the game plan against the 4 teams with dominant low post centers .

Wrong. Please go look at their stats so far. 34% to 27%.

Hyatt is 21% from 3, Paul is 18%. last year Paul was 39% from 3, leading the team. Hyatt does score better from 10 feet in. The guy is not, and won’t be, a successful shooter with those mechanics. Like I said, just watch the spin on the ball.
