No doubt but kid has handle, quickness and athleticism.Great defender but just threw up a brick on a wide open 3.
I appreciate your point. But he’s also playing offense that explains his recruiting ranking.Coach P and staff for recruiting Jalen Miller. Kid is playing defense above his recruiting ranking against high caliber competition.

Counterpoint: He put his foot like halfway over the line before bricking itGreat defender but just threw up a brick on a wide open 3.
Yeah I mean, he was afraid to shoot it, no confidence, etc etcCounterpoint: He put his foot like halfway over the line before bricking it
This. He would have had so much more confidence in his shot by now. At year’s end I believe holding Miller out of those first 6 games will be one of Pike’s biggest regrets.the big mistake is he should have been given minutes from the get go vs sisters of the poor not forced to be thrown to the wolves vs top 25 schools
And that's on Pikethe big mistake is he should have been given minutes from the get go vs sisters of the poor not forced to be thrown to the wolves vs top 25 schools
I think it will be largely irrelevant for Miller’s development. I’m pretty confident that, come March, we won’t be saying, if only Miller had played against Merrimack, he’d be shooting so much better now. It’s that storied development that we all know comes only from playing against NJIT that’s missing from his game.This. He would have had so much more confidence in his shot by now. This. Kept wondering why he wasn't playing and now that we've seen him, we really could've used his defense earlier in the seaons and maybe he would've gotten more offensive experience, so he'd be a bit better now. Biggest coaching headscratcher of the season, IMO.the big mistake is he should have been given minutes from the get go vs sisters of the poor not forced to be thrown to the wolves vs top 25 schools
The bigger point is he could have made some defensive plays that could have made a difference in the outcome of games that were lost.This. Forget about the kids offense coming along with game experience his defense would have prevented many of those wide open three’s that caused us to lose to 3 inferior opponents. I will never understand how Pike did not put him in those games after watching him play defense in practice and watching us blow these early games. Red shirt my *** biggest head scratcher is spot on.This. Putting Miller on Umass guard who beat us would have swung that game minimally.Forget about the kids offense coming along with game experience his defense would have prevented many of those wide open three’s that caused us to lose to 3 inferior opponents. Huh? His impact (including offensively) on our games 7 through 10 could have been enhanced had he played in games 1 though 6. That was my point. It was also in response to another poster who said something to the affect that he wasn’t ready to make shots in a big game yet. Who said anything about March? My comment about Pike having regrets when he looks back on the whole season was referring to just those first 6 games.I think it will be largely irrelevant for Miller’s development. Especially when we struggled defensively in our first 3 close wins. Pike should have realized he needed a defensive stopper on the floor who could disrupt the opponent’s offensive flow by shutting down their point guard.This.
