Dickie brought arguably RU's best recruits to RU in the early - mid 70's. Since that time we've endured an aimless wandering of 30+ years between NCAA appearances: BIBLICAL.

Meanwhile other teams (and sports) use NJ assistants to recruit the 4-5 star players we need.

Dickie V. was '/ is our link to our glory years. Now Pike has a footing, that is at best slippery and treacherous.

We need to get the gems from NJ, NY area - however everybody else does.

Here's to cloning younger version of Dickie V. and turning him loose.

Dick Vitale was one in a million as an assistant coach and recruiter for RU. The Sellers-Dabney recruiting gold rush may never be seen again at RU imo.

Schiano has a THANG for Rutgers / NJ....and we get a great coach with a vision that he's able to sell: recruit.

Pike is a good coach who's already produced two seasons (2019-20/ 2020-21) that we haven't seen on the banks for decades (i always wondered why Moses wandered in the desert for 40 years - he must have been cursed by a Rutgers mummy).


Point: We need another guy who's got a THANG for Rutgers / NJ and who'd be willing to come on board and wait his time with Pike and staff. I have no idea who that is...but my guess is he's out there.... and we've got to find him!

But Vitale brought IT to the house. He was relentless and had a swagger and energy.
