Eggy was 64 and died recently. He was an AA who was recruited out of Philly to Kentucky and never saw the court there. Came to Rutgers and became eligible sophmore Year. Played here for Tom Young for 2 1/2 years and averaged double figures. Never quite lived up to the hype. Married and moved to Louisiana. He was known for being a great team mate and a good friend. RIP

I am thinking there is a mix-up. This Clarence Tillman (see link) is 64 and from Louisiana. He is not "our" Tillman, who would be younger than 64.

Regardless, condolences to the family and friends of the Tillman linked.

@RUtix4me Until this is clarified, please add a ? to the subject line, i.e.,

RIP Clarence Tillman?

The person in the link is a Louisiana native, so apparently had no ties to Philadelphia or Rutgers.

First of all, is Rutgers sure? Because based on the above, this isn't RU's Clarence Tillman.

Second of all, the photo Rutgers included in its story is of Roy Hinson not Clarence Tillman which is not a good look when you are remembering someone.

"Tillman was the first-ever McDonald's All American from the state of Pennsylvania and the game was played at the Philadelphia Spectrum. Tillman notably played alongside Reggie Jackson, future MLB Hall of Famer."

What the hell?

Very sad to see the news and the continued brain farts by the Rutgers PR/Media relations group (or whomever is responsible for the inaccuracies).

Definitely enjoyed watching those teams as well. RIP Clarence. WAY too young.
