That’s our future. Is any one else terrified? Miller, Palmquist, Reiber and Mag. Sure some spot minutes of Mag and Miller has show some promise. And you can even add in Jaden Jones and Cliff into the mix. But how can anyone say they are confident in our big ten future with this group? Zero impact players

It will be a complete rebuild through the portal. Besides Clff, and possibly Jones, we will not have legitimate Big 10 players on the roster. It is terrifying.
What makes you think pike can recruit the portal. This past year a huge portal year snd pike whiffed and came out a net loser.
pikes issue is he isn't a good recruiter.

Just look at the Braedon Moore situation as a prime example. Here was a TOP OF THE BOARD target who Pikiell and his staff identified early and recruited hard for months. They finally land him....and realize at the last minute that he actually stinks and part ways? After putting him at THE TOP OF THE BOARD?
It's not just Pike's lack of a recruiting "shark" personality and inability to recruit big names. They are flat out identifying and recruiting kids who dont belong at this level too.

Playing time and Shots available. Pike should be posting that in the portal everyday multiple times a day, buy a banner ad, send out a memo, work the AAU Circuit, whatever it takes, or he knows he’s toast after next year and two straight 4-16 big ten finishes.
This thread is so dumb, we are talking about 6 true and 2nd year freshman that have played a COMBINED 316 B1G minutes going into this game, and 213 of them was Cliff last year, other 4 a combined 103 total, Jalen came in 2021. You want to blame some one blame the 3 most experienced players that completely no showed in Caleb, Paul and Ron not showing better leadership. Jalen showed more leadership in a few minutes in the first half then all three combined, hand Jalen the keys as the only true point guard on the roster and let him work, make Logan Stephens, the walkon true point guard, his immediate backup. Let them run an offense, and get players to run offense plays, finally.

It was a huge red flag when we were basically the only high major to offer Mawot Mag who played at Prolific Prep with a bunch of top recruits. Every coaching staff in the country saw that team but only our staff thought Mag was worth offering. We were either smarter or dumber than everyone, and now we're getting the answer.
our entire starting roster for our first 5 games got major minutes last year and in the NCAA tournament
Realistically with Geo injured, 3 players with BIG experience, Ron 3 B1G years 1660 minutes played, Paul 2 B1G years 906 B1G minutes played, Caleb 3 B1G years 1187 minutes played, Ralph Gonzales-Agee never playing a B1G team 2 years San Jose St, Hyatt never played a B1G team 2 years LSU, Cliff 213, Reiber 50, Oskar 30, Mag 17, Jaden 6, Jalen 0. 8 out of 11 players have little to no experience in a Big 10 game and B1G refs, before tonight

I agree. For reasons I don't quite understand , good recruiters are born , not made. Guys who can recruit , be it football , basketball or any sport can succeed in recruiting no matter what schol they're at. And those that are not good recruiters do not evolve into great recruiters.

Pike better process a lot of these guys and we should have a whole new team year between graduation , transfers and processing . F the nice guy routine and chemistry and bring in talented players who can play at the big gen level. Newsflash , the best players are selfish and want to score. Bring them in and figure it out( that’s why they’re paying you the big bucks. If you run back the same team minus Harper we are destined for last place

This is true as well. Think we need to break this whole roster down to the bear bones and build it back up. Problem is, not sure pike can recreate his first few years and build it back up to a tourney team. I think he’s too stubborn with recruiting , transfers and offense to do it again. I hope I’m wrong but Im not seeing it
Jones is supposed to be a scorer. He's taking a lot of shots and missing most them. And defensively he looks disinterested at best.
I tried to warn people about getting caught up in their own hype about what they thought he could be. Even I didn't think it'd be this bad.
Probably wishful thinking. He was supposed to be a talented scorer and we knew we didn't have anyone else with that reputation so were all hoping he would be a threat and help make up for the loss of JY's scoring.
Well, Lafayette is currently 292 in Kenpom. Maybe we can stay out of the 300’s? That can be Pike’s new goal.
