November 19 against St. Bonnies...
Clemson up 51-37 with 13:30 left (90.4% probability of winning, Bart) Lost 68-65

November 21 against WVU....
Clemson up 52-43 with 8:16 left (88.2% probability on winning) Lost 66-59

They were 34.5% from 3 last year (mostly same guys)

I expect no Baker and a Harper at 50%

I expect Hyatt to get the message

I expect Caleb to be very tight at home

I'd like to predict a RU win, but it is a big leap of faith to think production will come from guys who aren't really scorers. If rest can help Ron I'd really like to try and see if we can get him healthy again.

I don't have a clue.

SO many unknowns...most importantly Harper's health. If he puts a lineup of 5 guys that will most buy in defensively they won't score. If he eases up and puts a band aid on the program and plays guys who aren't/can't defend we are dependent on how Clemson shoots.

Rutgers is now a 2 point favorite. I can't ignore that. We look at things from a RU standpoint. I am guessing if I was knowledgable about Clemson and look at things from a Clemson standpoint I wouldnt feel good for Clemson.

You asked....
Rutgers 61
Clemson 58

I have no idea how we will win though....We desperately need a breakout of some player to give us (fanbase) hope. I'd love that to be Hyatt. I am down on him, as has Pike, and I want to be wrong about him.

I thing to add.....I don't see Clemson playing zone against us. I could be wrong.

.........also looking at things from a contrarian POV. We are a 2 point favorite and we now have guys saying we are going to lose by 20. 2 weeks ago the expectations were stupidly high....now they are stupidly low.

@mildone would say how our fanbase thinks about the game has no bearing on how our team would do...... I don't care.

It's true, fan expectations are irrelevant to results. So are so-called jinxes, although I joke about, and play along with, those all the time. 🙂

I would think the team will eventually get past it's shooting slump. And when it does, it will start winning more games. That could happen tonight. Or not.

I'm excited to see what happens.

There may be an ounce of a relationship where perhaps expectations may make players play with a don't make mistakes mentality.

But that isn't what I am really talking about.

In financial markets what the fanbase says has relevance because the fans are in the game.

Going to be a nightmare tonight against one of the top 3-pt shooting teams in the country, facing off against one of the absolute worst.

Clemson 78
Rutgers 68

I don't know that I can agree that a 10 point loss to another P5 team is a "nightmare". Perhaps just a wee bit of hyperbole? 🙂

Well, before the season started, just about everyone had this as a W. Losing to a mediocre Clemson team AT HOME by 10 points, under a barrage of 3-pointers, is, indeed, a nightmare scenario.
