The play they ran that got Shaq a clear layup attempt (he missed) at the 4:05 mark has been something that's been missing pretty much ever since.
It starts with our regular horns set but everyone is doing something. Baker passes and then runs his curl. Harper sets a screen and passes to Geo off the curl. Shaq sets a screen and rolls toward the basket when Haarms follows Baker. Young cuts through to bring his defender away, the pass to Shaq isn't there if Young and his defender are in that corner. Only Mathis (with Stefanovic in the near corner) is idle, which is fine.
Young's defender recovered enough to barely bother Shaq but that was a very makeable layup.
And yeah I get you can't do this against zone defenses but our offense hasn't run with that sort of harmony in a long time.
That purdue game was a fun one . It was a Saturday afternoon and nice knowing we had punched our ticket to the dance ….then the world changed a few days later
That looks like a horn sets into flex action into a same side pick and roll. Multiple actions in one set make it hard to guard,m. Geo comes off the horns down screen and sets a screen( which young actually doesn’t use ) and Geo actually slips it and gets a down screen from shaq. After catching the pass Shaq dives to the rim after that area was vacated by young clearing out. Great set with multiple back to back actions which make it hard to guard

(also I would say losing Mathis..who followed Shoe's to SJ counts as a key player too).
