he used to be money from the line. Four for nine this year. Of course we’ve seen the results elsewhere. I don’t care how good a defender he is - hell Jalen Miller js suppoesd to be a lockdown guy.
He must sit!!

Agreed he needs to be playing 5-6 minutes maxhe used to be money from the line. Four for nine this year. Of course we’ve seen the results elsewhere. I don’t care how good a defender he is - hell Jalen Miller js suppoesd to be a lockdown guy.

Caleb didn’t ruin anything last year. The team was who it was. Mathis being terrible was way more detrimental than Caleb being around.Caleb has basically ruined everything we could have hoped for. We looked like a top 10 team in the country last year and he screwed that up once he returned. Now he is starting and is just not worth the minutes he is getting.
It sucks because he was really good as a role player his first two years but I think he sees himself as something better than he actual is the last two seasons.

My hunch is the Calebs back is not the same and it’s really affecting his ability to shoot.
He used to be decent shooter and never chucked up these air balls and bricks so frequently.
I can agree with that to some extentCaleb didn’t ruin anything last year. The team was who it was. Mathis being terrible was way more detrimental than Caleb being around.
I agree. He doesn't look fluid in this movement out there at all.My hunch is the Calebs back is not the same and it’s really affecting his ability to shoot.
He used to be decent shooter and never chucked up these air balls and bricks so frequently.
I think it’s mental. No idea how else you miss as badly as he does.
A bad back could cause someone to miss badly.
He wears some type of wrap/heating pad during warmups or halftime. He had a pretty extensive back injury.
He definitely shouldn't be handling the ball as much as he is.Coaches need to assess what is, not what you hope will be.
Right now Caleb can’t be looking for a shot every single time he gets his hands on the ball, and he is.
Coaches need to address it
Caleb shot four air balls in a row against NJIT, and his first shot last night was an air ball. That’s pretty much an impossibility even if you’ve never played before and are ten years old. He used to have a sweet shot, so I cannot figure out what’s going on.
He had a fluid shot and an easy release, and had good form. Now he seems to be guiding it rather than shooting it. I don't know, your guess is as good as mine as to what happened. Even extremely poor shooters don't put up five airballs in two games. He never had a sweet shot. I haven't seen a Rutgers player with a sweet shot since Douby.
So far Calab is a liability out there on offense. He shouldn't start. If I had my way I would have Jaden start and run offensive sets through him. If Pike is stubborn about it, I would start Hyatt over Calab as well.he used to be money from the line. Four for nine this year. Of course we’ve seen the results elsewhere. I don’t care how good a defender he is - hell Jalen Miller js suppoesd to be a lockdown guy.

Money from the free throw line averaging 1 attempt per game who careshe used to be money from the line. Four for nine this year. Of course we’ve seen the results elsewhere. I don’t care how good a defender he is - hell Jalen Miller js suppoesd to be a lockdown guy.

Myles Mack had a nice oneHe never had a sweet shot. I haven't seen a Rutgers player with a sweet shot since Douby.
He should not be in the game as much as he is plain and simpleHe definitely shouldn't be handling the ball as much as he is.
So much disinformation in this thread by the usual suspects. When will you guys call a spade a spade?
This is the definition sub-optimal results oriented thinking.Disinformation is what Mbash is spreading and that you’re agreeing with.
As of 1/21/21 we were on a 5 game losing streak with the combo of Young and Mathis starting. We then won the next 4 games after Baker and McConnell were inserted into the lineup.
We did not “look like” a top 10 team in January and the season was actually saved when Pikiell shook the lineup up, inserting McConnell.
I know this is about the 20th time I’ve had to tell your this. I really believe you never watched any games in January 2021.
It’s really okay to be level-headed and have a balanced take on things. McConnell is clearly struggling big time right now and needs his minutes reduced. He’s also struggled at times in the past. But to say he ruined our season last year is complete BS and the disinformation.

You continue to ignore a 7-1 start, SOS, and a losing streak that started when McConnell came back.
In the 8 games Mathis played before Caleb returned he shot 48% from the floor 39% from 3 averaged 4 boards 1.6 assist 1.5 t.o.
We were playing a faster pace more in rhythm game and it worked, Caleb came back we slowed down and everyone played worse.
Just a raw numbers comparison last year Mathis shot 38/30/57 with 3 boards 1 assist 1 t.o.
Caleb shot 32/20/80 with 4 boards 1.6 assist and 1 t.o. Now everyone will hype up Caleb's 80% ft but he averaged 1 attempt per game.
We only won games vs teams we were just flat out better than after Caleb came back. Now without JY we and I guess Myles, we can’t even do that.
Lot of people forget 2 years ago after the nw win Caleb only played 16 15 13 13 15 5 and 3 minutes in the final 7 games, he was completely phased out we actually thought he was going to transfer. We’d have been so much better off if he left.
This is not a Mathis post. By the end of the year he checked out and was playing bad and that’s on him. This is caleb post.
